Soulseek help?!

Well...

somehow my soulseek transfers list has filled up with hundreds of "hardtek" songs trying to download at once (probably a mistake with the "download from containing folder" option. At about 10 seconds after launching soulseek, everything stalls and the program does not respond.

How can i open and delete these files, so i can start downloading again...?

I used to use soulseek but since have changed to torrents. P2P's are a thing of the past really. I suggest downloading something like UTorrent and using a public torrent search engine like Isohunt

It's not stalling, the list is loading. Let it finish, you'll get responsitivity back and then delete the list of songs.

May take a bit of time.

i tried that, and it just timed out and closed. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, and it opened up with the same transfers...

I cannot delete them 1 by 1. What do i do..

The download list is probably saved under your user name try making a new one and see if its gone.

you might have to get a new name.

there also might be a folder entitled "upload" in your music folder on your hard drive. if you know the user name of the guy that soulseek is trying to get this shit from, you can find his folder in the upload folder (if it's there) and delete it and see if that helps. :shrug:

same thing happened to me once, and that's what ended up working. i've since had to get a new name though, i didn't use soulseek for a while (because i switched drives and didn't have it installed) and when i finally installed it on the new drive i had forgotten the password for my old nick. heh. not a big deal though.

With Soulseek closed, in your program files.....

Delete queue.cfg and queue2.cfg

That should do it. The files will be recreated (without the queue'd files) when you start Soulseek again.

If that doesn't work delete all cfg files. Note: You will lose all your user list. If there are any in the list you don't want to lose... write them down so you can enter them manually.

EDIT: If you are at all worried about losing your personal user info and can't remember your nick or password you need to open your login.cfg file using a text editor such as Notepad or Wordpad and the nick and password will be there.

hey...i'm having the same problem with soulseek, and i've been trying forever to find my queue and i can't...the search funciton on my computer won't find anything...help pleaase
