funny smell

im starting to notice a VERY FAINT smell from my casings. its like dirty socks or a locker room, or maybe even like a damp basement (mildew) its not sour or anything. i only smell it if i put my nose right up to it, and its pretty mild. are they on the verge of contamination?

Are they too wet maybe? FYI: You shouldn't put your nose real close to cakes/casings to smell them. If they are contaminated, you could inhale a mold spore and have an allergic reaction.

That "mildew" smell should be kinda sweet like yeast. If it is, that's what you want. I LOVE that smell... Means shroomies are right around the corner!

ok, now my casings are getting stinkier. it not sour at all, it really smells like a locker room after hot showers have been running, mixed with the smell of a damp basement. its much more noticable after misting them. Ive decided these things are about to get fucked so i want to spawn them as soon as possible outside before i lose everything. im wondering, if i put them in a flower pot in my garage, is that ok, or should they be outside? (is there gonna be different flora of bacteria in my garage?)

see what happends first before doing anything drastic. if they do get contam'd then you can do a outdoor tek you'd be suprised how mother nature deals with contams
