why do people have such a hard time going to a concert alone?

I dont get it. I have gone to plenty of concerts alone.
I even went to Bonnaroo by myself one year.
I find that people also like to go to concerts, just to say they went to them. I mean, I can understand not wanting to go to a Mellissa Etheridge concert without your life partner..... but most concerts dont need two people to go to enjoy.

I kinda like festivals alone. Some of my friends are a bit .....well.....retarded....and when I'm cruisin the vista of a fest, I really dig meeting new people as me, not as a group.

festivals are great, except for the $4 bottle water that is very much needed, some places don't let you bring in your own so you get screwed into buying the over priced stuff.

i've been to tons of concerts alone, probably close to half of all i've seen. i don't get it either, but i don't think people feel as safe (as in what others think of them) or comfortable without numbers/people they trust.

word. as much as i love hanging out with my close friends at fests, usually the best parts for me are when i'm roaming and rocking out on my own. complete freedom then, too

I can't!
Were you at Roo this year? I couldn't find the fucking Shroomery camp! My friend and I looked everywhere.

Shroomery has a camp at Roo?- awesome
I went to Roo in '06 and tripped pretty much the whole time.
I love waking up at Roo the day after a ton of shrooms when you are in that dream state. I thought i was dreaming for hours.

I go to concerts and shows all the time alone. The only weird thing is telling people where I'm going because it's so weird to them. The way I see it being with people doesn't matter because I'm pretty much not going to be talking to them until I get home anyway.

I do lots of things alone, as I don't have any close friends in the area. However, I prefer going to concerts/raves/festivals/etc. in groups so that if I get too fucked up, hopefully one of us will be ok to drive.

I go to concerts by myself sometimes. Used to a lot, but for a while now been rolling with some crews. Depends on if anyone wants to go usually.

I've gone alone a few times. Sometimes people who are into the same music as me can't make it and fuck if I'm going to miss something.
I'll occasionally go to the movies alone to, but that's only because no one's into the weird style I like... David Lynch.
If my fiance is ever out of town, I'll blaze up and go to the theatre in my town by myself that frequently plays David Lynch stuff.

I would rather go to a concert alone then miss it! for sure. It is easier to meet people when you are goin solo anyways because you have no one else to talk to.

I like doing a lot of things alone. Concerts I think are a great group experience, moreso than movie-going or eating, but I still like going to see concerts alone.
I love going to the movies alone, and eating out alone too.

I saw STS9 by myself on a couple hits of acid and it was one of the best concert experiences I have ever had. I told people I was tripping and got smoked out.

I went to Roger Waters alone on an extremely heavy dose of mushrooms in the middle of midtown Manhattan and definitely came out no worse for the wear.
