So it appears there are still plenty of us who play CS on the Shroomery! It would be cool if we got a game going, maybe a weekly game.

What do you think?

We'll need at least 10 people to play...preferably 16-20.

We'll have to figure out a night to play, too. Sometime in the evening (eastern time) from monday to thursday works best for me.

Open up Steam and go to the Community tab, then search for 'shroomery'

You may have to create a SteamID and all that jazz.

meh. funny thing about scotland is it actually lives up to the tourist hype, ie. people really do walk round in kilts and play the bagpipes and then go eat some haggis, drink some whisky and have a fight. and stonehenge is in england :P

either way I think I will fit in. I have had haggis and loved it. I love whiskey. Not big on the kilts but I can deal. I just hope me being American does not cause any pre-judgement...yea right.

I remember my freshman year of college when half my dorm(including my roommate) was addicted to Counterstrike. It was also the year 9/11 happened, so it was weird sitting at my computer and hearing behind me "terrorists win."

I play Countrstrike Condition Zero.

Anyone into that?

It's cheap. Just go to STEAM's site, download steam for free and pay 10- bucks and WHAM you have Counterstrike Coundition Zero.

Well it looks like Sunday and Thursday are the best nights...we could have one of those nights 1.6 and one Source.

For time we'll use the 9pm ET / 6pm PT slot that most of us are choosing. Games can of course go longer, as long as some people want to play they'll play, I'm sure.

That should suit most people.

Which should we have on Sunday and which on Thursday?

We will either have to find a server, get someone to host one, or get a server hosted at a place like gameservers.com ($19.95/month for a 20 player private server).

To start with, I'd prefer either finding a server to play on, or someone hosting it. We can think about getting one hosted if this thing takes off.

Does anyone know of someplace cheaper than gameservers.com?

Does anyone have a good server that they play at regularly?  In between the "official" meetup times, we could just play there?

Maybe have our own "clan" tags so we can easily identify each other and just be badasses in general :wink:

you guys should just host css but don't use steam, you'll get more people playing that way as some of us here are banned.

the key then to keep hackers out is to password protect the server, then just drop the password in this thread.

also you can easily setup mani, and give a few decent people admin to banned any suspect hackers....which you will need to do anyway as their are just as many hackers on normal servers as well....only difference is those on normal servers know how to use their hacks without getting caught

try going into sound options, or minimizing during the game and looking at your volume levels in the sound tabs in windows, make sure "wave" and "volume" are both set to full also make sure your speaker volumes are well into hearing range

Step 1 - Join the Steam Community "Shroomery", if you haven't already. It's getting fairly big, you can expect to find at least someone online each night.

I created it about a month ago. We got a match going once by inviting all the users to a group chat. Everyone should join, it makes it much easier to find people. Also, if you DO decide on a time and date for a shroomery match, PM me or chat to me via steam so I can make it a group event. That way people who don't follow the thread will be able to see when it's going on via Steam.
