so what is the deal with pusIfer
what are they, what are they for
jokes,
?
maynard is not exactly a dull man, has deep understandings of the workings of the universal mind, and how the music industry warps people's minds
i'm not sure what puscifer is for exactly though, jokes, mockery? seriousness?
i am listening my first time right now.

Om Namah Shivaya, I tell you What!

I don't think it's meant to be a joke at all. In an interview he said that there is a lot of downtime on tour so he used that time to work on this project. For a guy who likes Devo and sex jokes, Puscifer is a fairly personal album.

i don't like Puscifer at all. doesn't detract whatsoever from what was done in Tool and APC though.
artists are funny creatures, they don't produce genius work all the time, there is lots of crap that has to be made at stepping stones to get to the good stuff. in my mind, Puscifer is just one of those stepping stones until Maynard takes on something a bit more up to his caliber.

There's genius in PuscIfer if viewed from the right angle.
Most of the songs are kind of half-baked but that's to be expected for something written while on tour.
The Undertaker and Indigo Children are very high caliber songs imo.
And if you listen closely to Sour Grapes it's very inspiring, I think he's serious...
