I agree with Captain. I live near Toronto now, but I'm moving to B.C. (hopefully). I'm going mushroom hunting tonight. If I find anything, I'll let you know and we'll go from there. Don't count on me finding anything though.

Hey, I know moving to toronto was a big change from our great province of B.C. but I'm only here for six months on a government run "Experience Canada" program. They pay for it all and I get a cool job. I will be moving back to B.C. soon enough, so don't knock it.

wow man, im in BC with Katimavik, its liek the same thing i think. i was in goderich ontario and st joachim quebec as well. now im in east van and today is my 48 hours off, it was a thunderstorm last night so there are paneolina foencii (sp) evrywhere. can anyone tell me where some real shrooms grow here in van?

Check the wood chips in the planters around the malls and downtown. I used to live in TO but I am much better now.
Been here for 10 years now and other then an occasional visit, I see no reason that would cause me to go back

Hey BC Stoner,
what kind of shrooms are you hunting for in the toronto area ? There aren't very many worth hunting from a psilocybe perspective. Lots of good eating shrooms though. Check the mycological society of toronto web page (www.myctor.org) - they have hunts you can go on as a guest (that is to say if you're not a member of MST). There is one Sat June 10 somewhere in the Niagara region that I might go to.

I live in Toronto, and I would go for a hunt with someone here, but I don't have any hunting experience myself.

I asked once what to look for here and was told that pan. subb. was a good bet in places where there are horses. I just happen to be working at a racetrack for the summer. I haven't had a look yet, but I probably will soon.

Ya I guess race tracks would be a good place, but getting access to one might be harder. But if you work at one it's no sweat. Maybe I'll try and sneak into Woodbine some night? What about parks around here? Does anyone know?

Actually, I work at Woodbine, and if you come during the day, you can just walk into the area where the barns are.
