yeah when i started getting into pills i made a bunch of new friends.


they probably make up the majority of the dumbest people i have ever met.

i finally just stopped chilling with all of them.


almost all pill heads from indianer are tarded.

Eh, I have acquaintances. People I say hi to and chat with fairly regularly. But as far as having close friends who I make plans to hang out with, no. I still have yet to make such connections up here. I do have a couple friends back home in California, but now I only see them a couple times a year.

I'm in Oregon. I moved here about a year ago. I do have a social life. It's just that it's composed of going to events like parties rather than chilling with people at someone's house. It takes a while for me to form those kind of connections. I remember in college it wasn't until my senior year that I really developed a close circle of friends.

Yea I ma a sophmore at college and I do not really have any "friends" here. Just roomates who I talk to and pay bills with and people I party with. No one who I call up on a thursday night to see if they wanna chief some bowls and sit around. Back home I have about 4 good friends and we are inseperable.

I think you're right freddurgan.

My main circle of friends, for the past 8 years, have been habitual drinkers and potsmokers.  They are awesome people, but they spend a lot of time getting fucked up.  I wasn't into either when I started hanging out with them, but smoking weed every day and drinking a few times a week was normal to them, so it quickly became normal to me.

Just now I'm realizing that it's not normal twenty-something shit... it's a crutch, but it seamlessly became part of my life because I immersed myself in that behavior.  I'm only now starting to pull away from that (and hopefully I don't lose my friends.)

My closest friends are those I met in H.S. or just after and we kept up over the years. I can also say my teaching colleagues are people whom I call friends as several are really there for me when I need them even if I don't relate to them across the board. I try to be giving in our relationships as well when I can be.

I never had a huge group I hung with. We used to party but never in large open-house type parties. We saw Rocky Horror P.S. together multiple times and turned each other onto various music groups/singers. (Bowie, Queen etc.)  We were all different but appreciate one another till this day even though we all live in separate cities and countries.

We had the art dept. in common and our appreciation of Tim Curry lol. We all smoked weed at one point but never cut class to do so...okay, I cut math once to do so but it was mostly the excuse to cut math! One friend brought a guy into out circle and then married him. Last we heard of her was many years ago when she was expecting her 1st who would be about 22 now. Kinda sad that we lost touch.

We are now: A pre-school teacher...that's me..and I live in States (w/Green card), just became a grandma, C.D. is an art and cooking teacher in Canada, at 45 expecting her 1st baby, J.B. is a lab technician in Canada, married, moved to the country and chose not to have children. We e-mail and keep up with each other's lives. I plan on going up to T.O. to see C.D. in March as she's due in Feb.

When we get together we laugh and share stuff like we never moved away from each other. We still share an understanding that we don't have with others, not even our spouses. My husband shares an understanding with his ol' Bklyn friends that I don't relate to. That's cool. They laugh and connect when they see each other.

Hus called his friend B.M., who does web page art and sells rock concert photos (good ones!)in Ca. to tell him we became grandparents...B. told hus about getting together with one of their old buddies who'll be R.V.-ing up to California to see him & his wife and 2 children in the winter. Hus said: "Well, he should be down by now". They cracked up over the private joke. :hippie:

Some have to be left behind as the weave of our lives on the loom of life elongates and some even cut out. Mostly, it seems that what ends a friendship is that one grows apart or finds something so distasteful about the other person that  that they just let it fade.

As I see it; time marches on...we change, we make choices...it's all part of the big picture called the "self" as we interact with others. Some weave only a few threads into out lives, and others are interwoven multiple times and add to the beauty of the patterns of our lives.

May we all find beautiful patterns...with friends and within our 'selves'. :thumbup:

I have four or five friends from 3-7 years old I talk to frequently, so I've known them 20 years. I have a few others I've picked up a long they way, I'd say I have a dozen close friends that aren't related to drinking/drugs/parties.

i was just trying to be a smart ass.

i have few tight friends here where i live, but things aren't really what they used to be. high school's over, nearly everyone's out somewhere else.

i've got to meet some really good people through the shroomery which is a huge plus. :thumbup:

i especially hope to meet new faces by the time i begin college.
