is there a way to bookmark a good thread within the shroomery, w/out using my browsers bookmark function?

Yes, scroll down on any thread and locate 'Toggle Favorite'. Click it once. It's in the extra information box under 'Related Threads'. You can save an unlimited amount of threads using this feature.

You can also click the (remind me) button at the bottom of the post and it will appear in a list in your 'Home'
