What a jerk I was;

I know it's no excuse, but when I drink, I get belligerent, obnoxious and down-right rude sometimes.

I drank a shit load while watching the playoffs and then proceeded to blast you guys with unrestrained and unfounded exuberance,
bragging, insults, and pathetic gloating.

I know I wouldn't have wanted to hear that shit had the tables been turned and I don't blame any of you one bit for coming down on me (robbyberto excepted).

Please accept my apology and my assurance that I'll be much more compassionate and fair-minded in the future.

On a side-note, congratulations to the Rockies for making it as far as they did.  They deserve far more credit than I ever expressed.

No, trust me, you've been pretty much on par with all the ones I've met. All I hear is "rockies suck," "why do they bother," "rockies shouldn't have made it to the series." Shit like that. It's ridiculous. Were Denver fans rubbing it in the faces of the Phillies or the Dbacks? I sure as hell wasn't. Whatever, congrats guys, you bought a World Series. Sure feels good beating a team that spends less on the whole team then you did for one pitcher doesn't it?

I gotta say that never in my life would I have figured that a Red Sox (oh, we haven't won in 86 years and you should feel sorry for us & all of our granparents who lived and died without seeing their team win, and the Yankees always buy success and are evil, and did I mention Bucky Dent??......) & Rockies (Expansion team) world series would cause such a dust up. :shrug:

You got me all wrong, I love the Yankees. I was mearly pointing out the irony that the #1 complaint about the Yankees is that they're a bought team and Boston, who are the Yankees #1 rivals, are just as bought.

Oh man trust me the Yankees and the Red Soxs fans suck where i live. :laugh:

Imagine being in Upstate NY and most every damn fan you see around you is cheering either the Yankees or Red Soxs. Like being stuck in Beirut during baseball season. Thats why people like TM don't bug me. I live with it year round.. :grin:

This year was especially shitty cause of the Sep slump. But i will gladly wear the Black, blue, and orange of NYM proud. Though if any of you know somebody who will run Willy Randolf the fuck over with a car,and cripple him, we are taking up a collection at Shea Stadium.  :mob:

Maybe under my location you don't see the "Syracuse, NY", but trust me, I know all about the fans. I find the Yankees fans are faaaaaaaaaaar more obnoxious and the BoSox fans are fewer and farther between. In fact, the Yanks fans around me are the reason I initially hated the Yankees.

To Gastro: That was my point. Who the fuck cares if they're bought or not? Maybe you should be a faithful fan and go to games and buy merchandise so they can have more money in their pocket.

First of all, I attended a huge amount of home games this summer. I have my Rockies hat, I have my Rockies Jersey, I support my team as much as anyone. The Rockies owners however spend only 28.4% of revenue money on the team. They're greedy bastards

He does have a GREAT point. People forget that for the first, I think 5 years it was, that Coors selling out was pretty much a given. You saw that passion this year in the playoffs.

The crazy thing is that they went 4 or 5 different directions in 4 or 5 years back between '97 & 2003 or so. I swear they changed course every 3/4 of a season or so. And when they did spend $$, they gave guys like Mike Hampton $120,000,000. :foreheadslap:

It became impossible to root for them. Big ball, small ball, back to big ball, no balls, spend big, fire sale, and on and on.

I'm not willing to sell out to them until we see if they'll spend. And they can't pull the "we're a small market team". They, like the broncos are THE team in a bout a 6 state area. Granted, it's low populated areas, but if you give us a solid, enjoyable product, there's more than enough.

Finally, I must say once again, that nobody deserves a ring like Todd Hilton does.

Oh, I'm not mad at the Sox, Yanks, Cubs, whatever. I'm just going to resere my unabshed love for the Rockies until I see if ownership will pay the price to keep these guys.

Nope, no hate here. I grew up loving a team that was under the eye of the tribune corparation and ran the team strictly like a business. The biggest free agent or trade I can remember growing up was George Bell :foreheadslap:
