He could have just chucked it out the back of the end zone, too.
They might have almost had a chance to spike it, but they tried to bring out the kick team. There was absolutely no chance whatsoever of kicking it, though.

You've got to be kidding me there is no way the #1 defense in the country is gonna fall against the pitty kittys or especially michigan. There is no way the buckeyes are going down to the 1-AA runner ups.

Both are solid teams and the Mid West as a whole is a big joke.

I wish OSU fans (and the students here) would stop talking like we're fucking in already. OSU has beaten PSU TWICE in Happy Valley EVER! That place is fucking near impossible to play in. And any Ohio State fan understand it doesn't matter how good either OSU or Michigan is any given year, anyone can win. Remember last year, when everyone talked about us as if we were already national champions? Yeah? Well let's be fucking humble for once.
And HOLY SHIT I'm tired of all the shit OSU catches, seriously, what the fuck? We beat every team we've played handily so far, if you cane PROVE to me that OSU sucks, then I'll believe it, but no one really has shit to say. I love how everyone was all over Boise State last year, talking about how amazing they were (I'm talking about before the bowl) and they should have a shot since they were undefeated. Who the FUCK did they beat? No one! So why does everyone have the complete opposite feeling about Ohio State this year? It doesn't make sense. Just as people say I'm blinded because I go to OSU, you fools are blinded because you seemingly hate OSU.

/end angry rant because I've been arguing with about 10 people all day about college football. God fucking polls make me so mad, this is why NCAA basketball blows football out of the water.

i'll agree with you on that one, for sure.
The entire BCS is just such a fucked up situation it's not even funny. The only reason they keep it is because of the NCAA revenue that comes in with putting the name of a tortilla chips brand with the championship game.
I mean, even in the NFL, it would be like not even having a playoffs, and just having the #1 seeds in both conferences playing each other.

It seriously would not be difficult at all to have a playoff system and generate a ridiculous amount of revenue off of it. If there isn't a playoff system in my lifetime, no fuck that, before I'm 35, I'm going to be extremely disappointed with college football.

that's a big reason i am already starting to lose interest in college football.
You never have ever actually seen the best team in the country win the national championship during the BCS era, just the team with the greatest statistical appeal.
And that one year where there was that huge confusion of a "split championship" between USC and LSU....that was just special.

Well, I don't know about that. What about when Texas beat USC? I think Texas was the best team in the country that year. Granted, the best team doesn't always (or rarely) wins, but the same can be said for basketball. I'm a huge SU fan, and I'll be the first to admit that SU wasn't the best team in 2003 when they won in basketball. If UConn had won their region and played us in the final four instead of Texas they would have crushed us, just as they did the other two times that season. The thing about basketball is that it just makes it more definite than football. SU went through 6 games, and you can't take that away from them. You can say SU wasn't the best (as I just did), but it's MUCH harder, and even if it is the case it's something special to win 6 fucking games to a championship if you aren't the best. Winning one game when you aren't the best isn't shit, that happens week in and week out, ESPECIALLY this year in football.

Ummmmmm, not for nothing but that SU team was a monster by the end of the year, by which time 'Melo had figured the league out. Don't forget, he was a freshman. MacNamara didn't suck either, one of the clutchest white boys I ever saw put on a pair of cons. There were some other pretty good players too but I forget them now

Hakim Warrick, Kueth Duany, and Craig Forth were the other starters. Forth kinda sucked. Jeremy McNeil was the other center, and he was the reason the press (the press that kept them in the tournament when they were down against Okie State) worked so well because he could swat the shit out of balls. Don't get me wrong, and I shouldn't have to defend myself here, SU was a monster by then Anthony showed why he was the best freshman in the league, regardless of what people thought, and Warrick's block will forever be one of my most cherished memories, I'm just saying that UConn would have destroyed SU (and the fact that no one in the Big 12 fucking knew how to play against the zone sure as hell helped.) Maybe just losing to UConn doesn't mean SU wasn't the best, I suppose I could have used the 1985 Villanova team as a better example for my point.

And that 'Nova team was way better than people thought too. Didn't they send three starters to the pros?

I don't know, I'm only 19, I just know in '85 they won as an 8 seed. I think an early 80s UCLA team did something similar as well.

I was going to make a hypothetical argument, but those are pretty weak. I was going to say something along the lines of "Imagine if in '96 Kentucky lost to SU in the finals instead of the other way around. To say that Kentucky team wasn't the best in the country, if not the best ever, would be foolish." But then again, they won, because they were the best in the country.

It's impossible to really tell with football. Texas was spectacular, but you'll never really know who the best team was every year unless they BEAT the best.
Of course there are many times when the BCS system isolates what APPEARS to be the best team of the year. But it's all really just based on statistics. It's not like they rank teams randomly...
Well, SOME randomness
But let me ask you this....how many times in the NFL does the #1 seed win the Super Bowl? Probably only once every 4 years.
