Assuming I threw a psytrance party in the woods like 20+ minutes from human life and I got caught, what kind of fines/punishment am I looking at?
I will be providing speakers cd players and such, as well as promoting it as well as djing it.

depends on your location.
theres always the risk of getting your gear confiscated.
you can get -trespassing -heatlh violation-for selling anything consumeable (including bottled water) without a permit -selling alcohol without liquor liscense -festival without permit for anything over 20 people -people out of state can get incerated and held without bond
you should try www.buzzlife.com/forums you'd get alot of help from them.

nothing if you are prepared to ditch your audio equipment and run if the cops show up.
that happened to me a couple times when I threw illegal parties. but you just chalk it up to the game and make up the money on the next party.

The only way you can avoid bosses and jobs is if you don't care about making a living. Which leads to the second freedom: the freedom to starve." - Tom Morello

best case scenario in the unlikely event anyone notices they could just ask you to keep it down

why don't you just try to get a permit and do it? assuming you can get enough people together to make it legit. but whatever you decide to do, good luck! sounds like a lot of fun!

find somebody with a farm or something and ask to rent a field from them (it should be cheap)
the main reason for doing this is theoretically the cops can't come and start arresting people.

I was at a psytrance party in the woods in Texas once and a cop car freaking drove onto the dance area!! It took people a second to figure out the police lights weren't part of the party set-up. Funniest part was that a half dozen people were so into the music they just kept dancing without missing a beat. Anyways, turned out they just had noise complaints from some farmers or some crap...No arrests. Just make sure you have a permit.
