Depends on which conservatives. I know a few conservatives that are extremely smart, some going to med school and they have the grades and experience to pursue their medical careers.

However, a lot of conservatives are southern moronic fuckwads who like Bush because he acts like a dumb ass who can't speak... just like them.

This is such a retarded argument. That's like saying white people are smarter than black people. Are you that ignorant?

There are smart people who align themselves on either end of the political spectrum. Intelligence may or may not influence political dogma, I think not. People agree with what they have been taught, or disagree and find their own way. It's individual decision, not IQ.

And you, sir, have pointed out your own ignorance/stupidity just by titling this thread so. Or are you conservative? :lol:

This is not really about intelligence, but about the way we process information. In fact, until someone else duplicates this experiment's results, I'll have to take it with a big grain of salt. I don't believe that conservatives are less intelligent than liberals, and the fact that neoconservatives and their followers are wrong about pretty much everything has more to do with the way they process information than it does about their native intelligence.

I think there are two very telling traits about many conservatives (though they can apply to liberals and radicals, too): 1) Faith. Not just religious faith, but faith in the world as they see it. If reality doesn't conform to their views, they ignore it and try to create a new version. This can be a very helpful ability to have, but you have to be realistic (pardon the paradox) about the results you obtain when striving for a new reality. If it doesn't work, many conservatives will deny that it's fucked up, will in fact claim forcefully that it's working great. Exhibit A: the Iraq occupation.

2) The willing suspension of disbelief. Kind of a subset of point 1. People with this mindset love to hear things which reinforce their beliefs, moreso when their mistaken beliefs are being severely challenged by reality and loudly criticized by others. Exhibit B: Fox "News."
