DVD backups
    #7408574 -

I used DVD shrink to copy a DVD movie to my hard drive. It came out in a folder named after the movie with a video_ts and audio_ts inside. Do I just burn the folder to a blank dvd or do I have to make an iso or something?

Like I said the movie is already copied on my hard drive. I was talking about burning the resulting files onto a blank dvd.

yeah, you now have to use DVD shrink to turn the files into an ISO, then burn them, here is what i would do if i were you.

download and install dvd decrypter
download and install dvd shrink
download and install fixVTS
download and install ripit4me

these are all free programs and pretty easy to find, i think i got them at majorgeeks.com, anyways, ripit4me will control the other 3 programs and make dvd backups for you. It is a complete package, it will rip, compress/encode, and burn for you.

It will also crack some of the better protections that dvd shrink or decrypter could not do on its own. Ive yet to come across a movie i couldn't copy using this setup...

now if i could only find something that works this well for linux, id be set!

peace

I'll check out those programs and figure it out. Thanks.

just install (if you want to call it that, it is really just an executable) ripit4me last, as it uses all the other programs, there are guides available to help you set everything up

peace

edit: just use the one click mode, it is all you really need, unless you want to do it all step by step
