Just curious, what makes Australlia better than the united states?

This is also a very broad question....there are a lot of different factors....government, climate, aesthetic value, food/drink, recreation, crime, the people and their culture, etc...

Overall? America probably has most countries beat

I mean, the government might suck-ass, a lot of the buildings might look similar. the people are ignorant ASSHOLES.. But over-all, America is downright the best place to live, where you don't have to worry about getting your face blown off in public...

There are a lot of close second place countries though...

I don't get how people can say stuff like that. "America* is very high and mighty about it self"... what? America is not a thinking being! Neither is any country! I RARELY meet anyone - even strangers - who seem to hold that "America, fuck yeah" attitude in high regard. The problem, as I see it, lies on the opposite end of the spectrum - the citizens without birthplace pride (the thinking men, as it were) do not seem to care at all. People I meet shun the idea of pride in a country - which is fine - being born somewhere is nothing to be excessively proud of - but instead of fighting to make their country a nice place to live, they think it'll all solve itself.

Agh, the apathy is settling in me too.

But why do you say China would destroy us? Because of their numbers? In this modern age...numbers of troops doesn't mean much. And by the way...Iran has more soldier numbers then China.

And if it became a nuclear war. Heres a fun fact...China does not have ICBM's capable of reaching the US. So THERE.

Christ, you people are so defensive and proud about the place where you live. I live where I live because I was born here, thats it. I'll bet most of you were born in the country you're angrily defending.

China could possibly beat us, they do have attrition on thier side. But then again if they invade us....they are gonna have to deal with the AmeriCong

Do you realize how scary the people in the south are?

Seriously. We probably won't invade them though, because if we do, they'd probably win :P

China probably has the overall best army, not in terms of tactics or anything, but the shear number of soldiers and the length and time they train them....its unbelievable. They actually have a section of their country specifically closed off for wargames, that is intense.

i am an American citizen
and i live in America (although i have a house in China)

i'm just not biased when it comes to which country is better
i read the facts and they all come to the conclusion that America would get owned

you have to admit, the US is pretty good...our poor people are alot better off than poor people in most other countries, and the most that most of us have to complain about is a stupid president, and some levies, and some stupid laws.....but on the whole, on a day to day basis, America has some pretty good livin

we do however have alot of stupid people...we're in like like 90th place for % of the population that believes in evolution (thanks alot, the south)

if you read the news why dont you know more? china would beat the US militarily? are you kidding me? they dont even have a blue water navy, and you point to the fact that they buy military technology from RUSSIA as a valid point they are strong? didnt that contry just colllapse 15 years ago? man get out and get a dose of reality, China has a loooong way to go to catch up with us, we are a good 25 years ahead of them. wait till japan amends their constitution and makes an army of their own. all this doesnt matter anyways, the time of the big wars between major powers is over. not only is china's econonomy too intertwined with ours but MAD insures there will not be a conflict.
