I`m stockpiling Joker right now because I get them from an outlet store that buys old unsold merchandise from other stores in bulk and resells it; so i get them for 50 cents a can. My fridge is full of them, I found out online that Joker and Monster are the same company and Joker energy+juice is a prototype for Monster chaos to see if people liked without destroying the Monster reputation.
So I was wondering what makes an energy drink work exactly:
Sugar:carbohydrate source-to burn as energy
Caffeine:stimulant
B vitaminsSupport and increase the rate of metabolism,Enhance immune and nervous system function.Together, they also help combat the symptoms and causes of stress, depression, and cardiovascular disease.
Taurine:Despite its presence in many energy drinks, taurine has not been shown to be energy-giving, however the results of the studies into taurine usage have shown that taurine might help to reduce muscle fatigue and raise exercise capacity. Taurine has also been implicated in a wide array of other physiological phenomena. Taurine is named after the Latin taurus, which means bull, as it was first isolated from Ox bile in 1827 by Austrian scientists Friedrich Tiedemann and Leopold Gmelin. Taurine inspired the name "redbull" Probably an active hormone for sexually mature male animals fighting other males for the booty in breeding season. Taurine is often used in combination with bodybuilding supplements such as creatine and anabolic steroids
guarana root extract or seed:stimulant-main active is caffeine although it contains other alkaloids.A university study in Brazil of guarana extract showed a platelet aggregation decrease of up to 37% of control values and a decrease of platelet thromboxane formation from arachidonic acid of up to 78% of control values. This study may be significant to stroke and heart attack risk reduction because when excess thromboxane formation occurs, an arterial blood clot can develop, resulting in a heart attack or ischemic stroke.A separate 1997 study of guarana's effects on the physical activity of rats showed increased memory retention and physical endurance when compared with a placebo.
Other studies have shown antioxidant, antibacterial, and fat cell reduction (when combined with conjugated linoleic acid) properties in guarana
another active in guarana is theobromine. While theobromine and caffeine are similar in that they are related alkaloids, theobromine has a lesser impact on the human central nervous system and it stimulates the heart to a greater degree. While theobromine is not as addictive, it has been cited as possibly causing addiction to chocolate. When the inactivation of cAMP is inhibited by a compound such as theobromine, the effects of the neurotransmitter or hormone which stimulated the production of cAMP are much longer lived. The net result is generally a stimulatory effect
Theophylline, also known as Dimethylxanthine, is a methylxanthine drug used in therapy for respiratory diseases such as COPD or asthma under a variety of brand names. As a member of the xanthine family, it bears structural and pharmacological similarity to caffeine. It is naturally found in tea, although in trace quantities (~1mg/l)[1], significantly less than therapeutic doses[2].
