if you check the ingredients, u find that red bull is much less harmful for you, especially considering that the tiny can does just as much as a large Monster or Rockstar... i just drink red bull now because they dont fill u, and they pack quite a punch (plus easy to cary in pockets while roaming / dancing/ being active)

monsters are too sweet for me. i've tried a bunch and heavy throttle is just right and tastes good. so does this 'omega' brand in a blue can..some sort of mango flavor if i remember right.
i don't really drink them and act all wired and stupid, i just like them more than coffee.

Earl Grey tea with three teaspoons of sugar.
When I have a few extra bucks, I buy a case of Bawls pop.
Energy drinks are overpriced libations of unknown chemical composition.

If I'm going to waste my money, it'll be on Red Bull.
But not the stuff in the can. I think that's watered down. I only go for the Red Bull in those little brown glass medicine bottles, from Malaysia or some such place.
IMHO all those "energy" drinks won't do anything a few cups of coffee won't do for ya.

Maybe I'm wrong on this, but it seems as though the energy drinks are all just a gimmick. I say go with tried and true coffee or even soda. Don't pay 4X as much for some gimmick.

none of those energy drinks get me even slightly wired anymore.. in fact, when i drink one while stoned it makes me more tired..
but anyway theres this one called Hansen's Energy Pro.. its in a big green can and has these sort of tropical/hawaiian images on it.. and maybe a big wave or something.
anyway, that one is the best, its fucking delicious. it makes every other energy drink ive ever drank taste like garbage water.

Now that the market is becoming saturated with energy drinks all fighting it out for buyers (users?), we're getting some really distinctive blends. I consider myself to be a caffeine connoisseur, not necessarily a coffee connoisseur, though I love a cup, and I find that most energy drinks deliver distinctive effects from first swallow to last drop and can vary with how quickly the beverage is consumed. I didn't want to start a new thread so I'm turning this one in that direction.
Tell me about your favorite energy drinks and why\how they do it for you, especially if you can make comparisons. There are a lot out there that can vary by region. I like micro-brewed beers, I like micro-brewed energy drinks.
Personally, Monster is the old standby. Can't go wrong, great cotton candy flavor and scent, solid, wide, clear boost in energy by several ingredients, including many vitamins and a classic sugar buzz since it doesn't have corn syrup. I'm getting more into the Rockstar Juiced that came out recently. Again, no corn syrup, made with 70% juices, a good assortment of vitamins and several stimulating ingredients. It feels a little less consuming like Monster, and leads me to becoming extremely talkative and receptive without being necessarily wired. If I want to be wired there's no substitute: Sobe NoFear Gold (and to a lesser extent, the double down red and blacks too). This stuff is like pineapple\pear\mango juice + sugar (corn syrup? I don't recall) slurry. Thinking about it and the loads of caffeine almost make my vision tint yellow. The comedown off of these is HARD. I get really moody and restless and short tempered and it lasts for almost uncomfortably long. Best of the best of the best --Jones Soda Whoop Ass, especially since it's now in the big, 16oz can. This brew delights me, from the flavor and color to the smooth, beautiful cerebral high it delivers with a gentle release and comedown, especially compared to the shock of Rockstars. Restores faith in mankind indeed.
Right now I'm sampling some $0.60 energy drinks that my friend found at a Big Lots. We've got a case, like 20 of em. O-Mega Energy...two flavors, "cosmo" and "mojito". We also have a few cans of Lost: Perfect 10 energy drink. I'll get back to this after I've had a few more.
Carry on.

Starbucks Doubleshot is TEH SHIT
Seriously, if you can't make yourself like coffee (I can't, I have a thing against hot beverages) this is the way to go. It's cold, it's smooth, it gets the job done. Don't mess around with chemicals, it's straight-up espresso which equals straight-up caffeine

(1) Red Bull- the best! The energy and the taste are worth the 2 bux. (2) Krunk Juice- The taste is awsome but the prise just isn't worth it. (3) Full throttleand Lost- Nice taste, good energy, big can; worth the price
Another good one that kind of fits here is the iced coffee by Starbox. You can get it in a can at most gas stations and it tastes great! I don't care for coffee but this stuff is the shit!

in order (and i should note that all of them are of the sugar free variety... the regular ones are way too sweet for me)
1. Red Bull (or Red Celeste if i'm being frugal... they taste the same) 2. Von Dutch 3. No Fear 4. Sobe Adrenaline Rush
if you really want a hard core energy drink, GNC carrys this stuff called Redline that comes in an aluminum bottle... i had a couple of those one day and thought i was going to die... but it tastes like Kool Aid
and Kronik fucking sucks... thats the only energy drink i've ever thrown away because i couldnt stand the taste

I'm morally opposed to drinking Full Throttle. It's made and marketed by Coca-Cola. Energy drinks were designed and pioneered by small companies and I like it that way. Not to mention that it has corn syrup, no herbs and no vitamins at all. The mix of vitamins, herbs, caffeine, and forms of sugar are what make an energy drink better than just slugging mountain dew or coke or something.

Oh yeah this shit is goooood. It'll probably kill me if I drink it regularly though. I was on a rock climbing trip in kentucky and as the evening was drawing to a close I was in need of a little boost. I hiked on down to this little podunk store with an outhouse out back and looked into their energy drinks, all $2.25+ each. They had singles of Sparks for $1.10 so I got one of those. By the time I got back it had started raining so I drank this thing huddled under our canopy. Man what a beautiful buzz. A friend prefers the nearest competitor, "Tilt", which, while less expensive, tastes fairly foul to me.

Tie between Monster and Lost.
I love energy drinks though, almost all of them. Only one I don't like is "Full Throttle". Tastes like soapy shite. Damn Coca Cola products!

They made millions of dollars overnight after being released thanks in part to a huge facebook marketing campaign... then the FDA shut them down as they were "illegally marketing the drink as both a street drug alternative and a dietary supplement"...lol. Then they changed the name and re-released it under the Cocaine name again after changing the marketing on the label.
