Haynes or Chilton auto repair manuals?

Hey I was wondering which is the preferred auto repair manual - one time a long time ago a friend elaborated how one had much better diagrams but I can't remember which - can someone help me? for a chevy truck.

Ive always used Chilton but thats becuase thats what the library has. I like it though. Chilton has great diagrams.. but ive never seen Haynes manuals before.

are they pretty expensive? 40$?

i was looking on ebay and mine is $10 shipped buy it now haynes.

amazon.com $23 shipped new chilton ($15ish ebay)

The one I used wasnt model specific.. it was in the reference section of the library and contained dozens of makes and models layouts.. it was like a 56 volume set, fucking nice.

but yeah im sure they are both pretty good. I just had a great experience with Chiltons when I had to replace the heater core on my 1994 Buick Century.

I have only used a Haynes manual for a 95 dodge neon that decided that i had to work on it every weekend just for it to get threw the following week. Had no problems with the manual, did almost everything imaginable to that car except change the fuel pump, would not have been able to do most of the work without that manual.
