Nvidia firewall.
    #7238790 -

I don't know what's worse... the fact that asus builds a buggy shit-pile firewall into their motherboards and forces it on all their customers in a stroke of sadism... or that the douchebags seem to have gone to great lengths to ensure that it's harder to get rid of their firewall than it is to get rid of a nasty worm or trojan.

If any of you dicks are reading this... I'm going to find you, and I'm going to hurt you. In fact, I wish I could hate you to death

There's no CMOS setting for it?

Put a LAN card in the machine and disable onboard networking, perhaps?

Nah... uninstall the program (and the ethernet drivers), nuke the shit out of the registry entries, reboot, and install forceware ethernet drivers manually (choosing no when asked about firewall install... an option you're not given when using the wizard on the driver disk).

You still get a fistful of remnants lingering on your system, but it ceases to devote it's entire essence to dragging your system performance under the waves and drowning it.

To the gentlemen at asus and nvidia: you make the AMD-run ATI corporation look like the most competent people on earth.
