WHo likes them??

I do. I bought a shirt and its got mushrooms all over it and it has there name on it....was mushrooms the drug of choice for the allman brothers...or is it just random display of there music?

mushroom displays are prominant in their merchandise.  i love them, and enjoy them even more when mushies are in the mix :smile:

Yeh, ive been listening to them forever and started looking for a shirt and then there was mushrooms all over it!! I was kinda thinking that that there music was influenced alot by them taking mushrooms but i dont know....??

You know I wasn't really big on the Allman Brothers Band, so when I found out how deeply they were into mushrooms, I was kind of surprised. I don't know how I feel about it though, with all the promoting it and everything, for some reason I just kind of feel like the entire concept of tripping and self discovery is devalued.

Because mushrooms are a really personal drug, and when I see it thrown around with their name, it just doesn't feel right. It's mushrooms, and they're a rock band. It's kind of unnecessary.

But man there music is so down to earth and it all has alot of meaning..they're cool because what they played was what they felt and they played it the way they wanted to it wasnt a mainstream thing....even though it went mainstream...

But i know what you mean...i hate it when mainstream music steals the sound of a great band...

Oh and what type of music is better for you on mushrooms??

Because the grateful dead and pink floyd, jefferson airplane, jimi, and janis are rock but they have alot of pshycadelic trends to them:smirk:....and they were all associated with that era where pshycadelic was in:thumbup:

the brothers have been around a LONG time, almost as long as the Dead......and as far as I can remember, the mushroom has always been a 'logo' of sorts especially on merch and CD covers and such. I wouldnt call it promoting.....more like..spreading the wisdom
