As a former Iowa resident, I find it highly ironic that you *going* to Iowa for a show. I can't tell you how many times I had to leave the state to see live music I enjoyed. Driving to Minneapolis, KC, Omaha, Alpine Valley, Chicagoland or occasionally furthur was nothing to me and my friends.

Don't get caught with weed. They throw the book at you in Iowa. Especially if you're punk kids from out of state going to/from a crazy rock concert.

Iowa SUCKED!! The show was cool except I got my ass kicked in the crowd. Nothing major...but anything for the music.


The people there were crazy though...bad crazy.

Tonight...it's good ol Illinios Tool show.

Okay, so I was able to get RIGHT IN FRONT of Adam Jones. The only thing between me and Adam was a security guard and the barrier.

SOMEONE happened to see my flaming eye tattoo on my chest and one of the guys working with the band asked me if they could take a picture.

FUCK YEAH!  So he comes back with a camera, shines the light on my chest and during this time 46 & 2 was playing. He takes the picture and I look up towards Adam who was looking in my direction...probably trying to figure out what was up....and he sees the tats and nods.

Amazing!  Thats what I wanted. Thats exactly what I wanted.  My Tool tat was acknowledged by Adam Jones!!!!

I didnt think the night could get any better.




5 minutes later....that man who took that picture, gave me this.....



That my shroomerite friends...is a backstage pass!

I went back....sadly without my friends and waited for band members to say hello. As I waited I met a few interesting people. One of them being Danny Carey's close friend who played his voicemail for us. which was kinda wacky. Thanks Tom
After some time (not to long) the guys decided not to do the meet and greet and left the civic center. :frown:  Sad. The night was still amazing.

m00nshine is currently vacationing in Maui. Rumor has it he got rolled by drunken natives and is currently prostituting himself in order to pay for airfare back to the mainland but he's having trouble juggling a hairon addiction. He won't be back for a long while.

thank god i was lucky enough to see flood at the 2nd tool show i've been at... what a great song...

and des: sweeet! backstage pass to tool... hehehehe... good thing you had your tat :smile: ... sad thing is with the location of my tool tat it will be nearly impossible for them to see it... but well... it's about what it means to me anyway...

sorry you didn't get to meet the guys... only backstage pass i ever got was to soulfly... and the same thing happened to me... max cavalera had already left... at least i got to meet the band, but since he changes the whole band with every new record it wasn't all that amazing...
