Well holy bulldog. It is June 18th and Alex Rodriguez has 27 home runs. It was mid-to-late August last year when he reached that level. I do not think it is any sort of stretch of the imagination, at this point, to think that if he stays healthy he will launch 60 or more.

You may not like A-Rod but I think all of baseball should be rooting for him to whack these balls out of the park. How awesome would it be if he broke the single-season home run record? Asterisks be damned, cause this guy is a clean, mean hitting machine. He is putting on a goddamn home run clinic.

I was lucky enough to be at both Saturday and Sunday's games this weekend. He launched homers to the same exact spot of the park both days, one off a lefty, one off a righty. Hot diggity damn.

That man is going to single-handedly give me my fantasy trophy. Bless him. How's the NYC press treating him now? Kissing his ass I'm sure. Then, when he goes through a slump, they will all turn on him again.

There is a reason they pay so much to play in New York.

I don't really care what the press says. The guy frustrated me the last couple of years, I will admit, but I never booed him. And I hated when the fans and the press did. I'm so happy to see him playing his heart out.

I've got him and Magglio in my head to head league. Kickass.

He got that money to play in Texas. The Yanks only pay about 60% of his salary. The Rangers pay the rest. Bwahahahahaha.

Well my pitching is somewhat suspect, aside from Dan Haren and Andy Pettitte. Kelvim Escobar is probably over-achieving and due for a funk, and Jason Marquis is cooling off a bit. I traded Jimmy Rollins for Dan Haren straight up.

That being said though I am in first place (77-47-8), 3 games over 2nd place (75-50-7), and 9 games over 3rd (65-54-13). I play 2nd place this week and his pitching staff has been killer. Thank goodness I only face C.C. Sabathia once though this week.

Here's my lineup in that league

C - A.J. Pierzynski
1B - Todd Helton
2B - Placido Polanco
3B - A-Rod
SS - Aaron Hill (the only offensive weak spot, really)
OF - Magglio Ordonez
OF - Bobby Abreu
OF - Nick Swisher
Util - Frank Thomas

Bench Players - Shawn Green, Nick Swisher, Howie Kendrick, Dmitri Young.

Mark Teixeira on the DL

Pitching staff. Starters:

Dan Haren
Kelvin Escobar
Andy Pettitte
Cliff Lee
Jason Marquis
Claudio Vargas
Gil Meche
Jered Weaver

Pedro Martinez on the DL

Relievers - my weakest spot. But fuck it - Saves are just one category:

Dan Wheeler (just lost his job as the closer)
Antonio Alfonseca (just a fill-in closer)
Francisco Rodriguez (leads the AL in saves, that kinda makes up for the other two duds)
