A reminder

This post is dedicated to all the homeless people.

The people that struggle everyday to find food, water and somewhere to live.

I know that none or very few of us Shroomerites are homeless but I just want to remind everyone of the humbling situation we are in, in comparison to those people who struggle everyday just to survive.

We are lucky people, to sit here in our rooms, eating our packaged food, in comfort, at our computers.

That is all.

i always give homeless people food or if i dont have any, ill give them some cash.

however i feel the need to share a sad story.... the other day i was comming off of a freeway offramp and there was a man with a sign asking for money and or food.

i was flat broke with no food, but i did have a warm beer, so i decided to give it to him, i opened up the window and held it out for him, and he slowly walked towards me, but the light was green.... i had to go, so i tried to toss it to him.... but he missed the catch and it exploded on the ground as i drove away :frown:

i tried to go back and find him, with some chicken wings and more beer, but he wasnt there anymore :frown:

packaged food?? I don't anything that doesn't look like how it was grown

maybe people wouldn't be homeless if they went to school for 20 years, like i did
maybe people wouldn't be homeless if they had a job, like i do
maybe people wouldn't be homeless if they didn't have too many children for them to support, like i haven't
maybe people wouldn't be homeless if they SOBERED UP, GOT OFF THEIR ASSES AND WORKED

I have no pity, peoples' choices get them where they are, I'm not lucky

PS I used to stop and talk to the people panhandling with signs at the highway offramp. Until I found out how much money they make, where they actually live and what they spend their money on... Again, I have no pity

How do you expect your average ethiopian to get a job? Is that their choice?

sure, I've made tons of bad choices, no I never expected anyone to pity me or give me money for no reason

I've worked full-time since age 16, I took out government loans to go to college, both of which ANYONE can do

meeting panhandlers that make more money than I do and live in nicer apartments teaches a person something about people standing on the side of the road with a sign... they aren't needy, they are lazy

i dont give homeless cash, i give them food. then when you see them throw the food on the floor in your rear view, you know not to give them anything ever again because they just want money for boose or whatever.

apparently, female circumcision is more common amongst Somali, also professionals at begging, Somali cab drivers won't give rides to blind people because dogs are dirty in their religion

lazy = standing and waiting for someone to give something away
not lazy = working

if your homeless and your on the shroomery, that means your homeless and you own a computer? or you pay to use a computer at lan centers?

But who would pay to use a computer at a lan center when you don't have enough money to buy food to eat?

So are there homeless people that somehow own computers? because that would be awesome...in fact, if thats possible, I would like to be homeless.
