Although I don't really like his new album, I can't stop listening to Live! In Tune and on Time. The music just seems so beautiful to me. It's so chill... perfect for a trip. Anyone else a Shadow fan? Anything similar you can recommend?

i've heard nothing but bad about his new album, but haven't listened to it yet.. probably not missing anything.

i like his old stuff, though..

similar artists or stuff you may like since you like shadow: blockhead, rjd2, chimp beans, daedalus (sp?), mad lib, cut chemist, j dilla, luke vibert (aka: wagon christ, plug, etc), mr scruff

yea DJ shadow is really good I only have Endtroducing and The Outsider Sucks ass.

yos- RJD2 is sick I saw him here in Columbus(his home town) a few months back along with Busdriver. Cut chemist is tight too.

I've seen RJD2 also, great show. He just released a new album where he is trying to sing more. It's OK but not great, he could use some singing lessons.

Everything before The Outsider is gold. I have no clue what he was doing with The Outsider besides alienating his fanbase. Let us hope he doesn't try to pass that bullshit off on the fans at Bonnaroo.

In Tune and On Time is a great DVD to watch while tripping. That is one of my most memorable trips. :thumbup:

I considered Endtroducing to be one of the best albums I owned for a while. That album was very efficient at laying down a vibe. I'm not very familiar with him/they or any other albums, although I know I've heard a little bit more at a glance.

<3 RJD2. Great guy. Anyone know how many professionally produced albums he's made? I have two: Dead Ringer and In Rare Form.

...In Rare Form is not a common album, as the name implies. If anyone wants it, let me know I can gmail it around as a zip or rar file.

What do you mean by what albums he's made?
Since We Last Spoke was his sophmore album, not as good as Dead Ringer what definitely worth checking I think. He's also produced tons and tons of albums that aren't necessarily his.

Well, I mean what I said. Actual albums with new original songs on them... Albums with names.

Not like remix tapes and live recordings (I despise the sound quality of 99% of live recordings). I rarely find that a remix is better than an original song.

Well there are countless albums that he has produced or helped produce for other artists.
As far as solo albums, his discography lists Dead Ringer, Since We Last Spoke, The Horror, and Magnificent City Instrumentals (Magnificent City is an album with Acey Alone.)
