My new kitten - some cute animal pictures :)

This past Saturday we picked up our new kitten, Commodus.  We've been calling him Commie, because Commodus is a bit long for such a teeny kitten.  He's 6 and 1/2 weeks old now, and he's a lucky boy!  My friend in Tennessee got a call from a person saying that there were 5 kittens whose mother was hit by a car 4 days prior - so she went and got them immediately, but could only find 4!  She went back the next day though and kept looking, and found Commie alive, after 5 days without his Mama.  Luckily he's fine, and healthy, and has a voracious appetite :smile:

At my friend's house, where he was bottle fed, his best friend was a big yellow lab - so he LOVES our dogs!  He has been playing with Molly and Lucy here, and really likes to take naps with them.  His favorite thing is to crawl up on our shoulders and nap while we watch tv.  He also likes to take both of his paws and grab Molly's face, and lick her nose.  I managed to get a few pictures of that. 

Maximus, our other kitten, is still on the fence about him.  They've played a few times, and I'm sure they'll be buddies.  Commie likes him a lot, and follows him around, but Maximus is being a snob :lol:

The puppy is named Lando - we fostered him for a day before he went to his new family.  He really liked to play with the cats, because they were his size (he's only 4 pounds!)  We held Maximus up next to him to show how much bigger Max was - and then he decided he'd like to lick Max's face instead of hold still :smile:

I know :frown:  I'm going to wind up the crazy old pet lady with 47 dogs and 25 cats in our 5 rooms house :lol:

We're going to have to evict our tenants just to make room for the animals! :crazy:

So far we've placed 8 dogs in homes! I love it. It's so rewarding, and it's great to have them here for a few days, because it's built in socialization for my pups, getting to play with the foster dogs.

:lol:  Actually, we hadn't just vacuumed...but we do vacuum pretty much every day, or we'd drown in animal hair :smile:  That's why we have a Dyson animal hair vacuum - comes in so handy!!  Those pictures might be deceiving, too - our house is never really very tidy, because as soon as we pick up all of the dog toys, the dogs just take them out and play with them and scatter them about the house again.  We do make it a point to make sure it's "clean" though - I'm ok with having a "messy" house, but not a dirty one.

Oh yeah, big time.  My major was taught by someone who butchered the english language, the way they run the place is horrible, the way the teachers make you use free tutorials to learn is bullshit, I do that for free on my OWN time...

Too many things to list.  I enrolled there twice, and left twice.  Biggest mistake of my life. 


I don't want to derail your thread though.  That's an EXTREMELY adorable kitten, and I wish you two the best of luck in raising it. :thumbup: :cool:

NewbieShroomie, I never went to ITT - my fiance went there after he had been out of school for a long time (he had dropped out of high school, but got a GED).  It helped him get back into the "swing" of school, if that makes any sense.  He got his associates, and from what he tells me, he learned a lot at ITT.  That being said, it was also very easy for him...but still, a good stepping stone.  He's going for his bachelors now, and is using a lot of what he learned there, and expanding on it, so I suppose it served its purpose in his case :thumbup:

Wow Liz! Great Photos always. You sure know how to catch the best in animals. You should start making a portpholio of your best shots. or start making some animal posters or small frame sets of cool shots.

Great Photos tho as always. made me smile.
