Bah, I'm getting mine out tomorrow morning. I was worried about the surgery so I had to have an abrupt end to my little 'finals are over opiate bananza' and feel like a poopsicle. I bet you a bill that I puke the second I wake up from my IV KO.

I did not mind getting mine out because they put me under heavy sadatives and I got like 60 10 mg lortabs(hydrocodon)

For people whose jaw is large enough to accomodate the teeth, your gums and jaw in the area get sore from time to time over a period of years while they grow in.

Even if you do have room for the teeth, they may crowd the other teeth a bit and cause them to move closer to one another if there's any room. That's part of the reason I can keep mine, some of my teeth have a bit of room between them that the wisdom teeth will fill in by pushing the teeth together.

I hope it works out as planned... I don't have health insurance at the moment and even when I did my dental coverage had too high a co-payment.

Pff... thanks for getting me all excited. 60 10mg hydros and what do I get? Wimpy ass darvocets. O well, at least some good came of this... when the guy was givin me the nitrious mask, I kept taking it off and telling him I couldn't feel anything. After a while I could but I kept insisting so he kept cranking it. He asked me if I was a heavy drinker and by then my whole body was vibrating so I just let out a drugged up chuckle.

Next thing I know I'm awake and my jaw feels all puffy and this dumb hoe is telling me about how i need to take my darvocet asap. I was like WTF!! For some reason I just knew all along I would get screwed with some darvos. :thumbdown:

darvocet? what a joke ... you're better off taking a bunch of Naproxen, IMO ...

go back to the doc and tell them that your pain is not being alleviated by the darvocet ... but don't ask specifically for vicodin or norco or anything. if they think you are being sincere, they will help you out ... otherwise they will just label you a "drug-seeker" and you will be screwed out of relief.

when I got my wisdom teeth removed, they gave me norcos (10/325) ... I ended up getting dry sockets in all 4 sockets and had the most excruciating pain of my life for at least 24 hours ... norcos helped NONE for something that bad, though, but for regular discomfort they work miracles. and anything is still better than nothing, I guess ...

That does seem a bit much just for wisdom teeth. When I got mine out they had to drill away a chunk of my jaw and remove a molar that was growing inward at the same time. All they gave me was Ibuprofen 800.

They put you to sleep before removing wisdom teeth in the US? Damn, around here, they just shoot up some local anesthetic and start bickering away at the fuckers. Had all four removed last year in two sessions, only took some 600mg sachets of ibuprofen for a couple of days to ease the pain, but all in all, it wasn't too bad. Well, it was kinda annoying that the surgeon destroyed a bit of my upper jaw so I could blow blood-bubbles through the fresh hole in my skull when he squeezed my nose shut, but after a few weeks, it was safe to blow my nose again.

Really, the pain wasn't that bad. The noise. That's the discomforting thing. I just hate the sound of my own skull cracking.

hahaha indeed ... when I had regular teeth removed I felt nothing, but I had some vision and could hear the cracking and breaking of bone and it was way too strange ... not uncomfortable, just WEIRD.

Yeah, they usually put you to sleep here. All I remember is the nurses laughing at me as I struggled to explain to them this stair set I was gonna jump on my skateboard then waking up and stumbling to my dad's car, puking up blood all the way.

one of mine is coming through on the bottom (faster than the other) and it's causing one of the back tooth to turn...it's been hurting like a bitch for a week or two now, but I can't go do anything about it, if at all, for at least 2, possibly 4 more weeks

All mine are gone finally.  If my dentist didn't prescribe anything but ibuprofen I would find another dentist!  Tried the nitrous, used to do it for fun years ago but couldn't do it at the dentist.  I am somewhat claustrophobic  and was so busy trying to make myself believe that I wasn't suffocating that I never got to feel good.:confused:
