Camping with the puppies (pictures)
    #6924251 -

These are mostly pics from a weekend that I wrote about several weeks ago ( and have yet to finish the story ). Here's the actual story of our Spirit quest
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/6807956/an/0/page/1

This is Mudflap (pitbull(ish)) and Banana (english bulldog). They are my babies. A few weeks ago, we told them that we'd be going to the mountains for a few days and they got very excited. The plan was to go to our usual spot with a few of their doggy friends for a weekend of hole diggin' and squirrel/skunk/chipmunk chasin'. They couldn't wait.

(usual spot. you can see that my girl likes the old fashioned swing that is usually here.)

Banana dreamed about the mountains for days and wondered how far away "this weekend" is. It sounded like forever.

In the meantime, she saved up all her moneys for a new rain poncho.

Friday finally came and we made the two and a half hour drive up to the beautiful blueridge mountains of Virginie but when we got there, a group of evil boy scouts were occupying our cozy, little nook.

We also noticed that most of the area was either bright green with ferns and grass or it was black and charred from last falls controlled burn.

I remember a sign being here last November that said we couldn't camp because it was gonna happen sometime within the span of 3 weeks. I figured that they wouldn't set the field on fire if I'm obviously sleeping in it.

So because our spot was occupied, we walked a good 1/3 of a mile downhill....

.....to this crappy spot on top of a bunch of prickly grass and coralberry stumps.

I started digging a fire pit but Muddy took over for me and started flinging rich, black dirt all over creation. Mostly on his little sister who didn't have the sense to move. When he was done, he took a nap in it.

Then we went for a walk before bed time.

The first night was rather cold, especially for "Big Skinny" who couldn't stop shivering until I wrapped him up into a big puppy burrito.

On storing pedro tea...

Brewmaster: Well, the mescaline will still be in there, but I'd be afraid of it conjealing and trying to escape after it grew in size from eating all the other shit in my fridge, and possibly my dogs if it got out.

Pithlit: sentient drugs, now that is an idea ...

OneMoreRobot: Idea? It's a fuckin' reality. You know Salvia? Nigga stole my TV.

This is how we stay warm. Bacardi and hot apple cider.

The next day, we moved down to this much more comfortable campsite which provided softer ground and shade. It was also a lot closer to the delicious fresh water spring.

(wifey- tree climbing)

Unfortunately, their doggy friends didn't show up so Muddy and Nanner did a lot of sleeping in between hikes.

and finally....pics at sunset

to the east....

to the west.
