Spore Suppliers (UK)

Hi,
I am from the UK and have been having a look at spore suppliers on the net. I was wondering if anyone could reccomend a 'good' site i.e one that is gong to send me a working syringe in a decent amount of time and not tell the police about it! Also if anyone knows where I can get canning jars (or a suitable alternative) from in the UK or off the net this infomation would be greatily appreciated.

I am trying to follow the PF-tek method so am not sure if the above jars would be suitable (as the cakes wouldn't be able to slide out). However if anyone else is looking for jars I found these: http://www.smartbotanics.nl/grower_supplies.htm#jars. They are 20 euros for ten jars and specifically sold for said purpose by a mushroom growing company. However it says they can be boiled in water, but can not stand the heat of a pressure cooker. This is my first try so if anyone could have a look at the link and see if they think they would be okay, it would be much apperciated.

Well i found PERFECT tubs for pftek in Tesco tonight..
The are 'Tesco Value' Foodsavers tubs.. they are 250ml and are PP. That means they are PC safe :laugh:
60p for 3.  I bought 4*3.  Get them!

If you can't get them in your local Tesco.. PM me and i'll set something up for you.  I'll send as many as you want as long as you pay the cost of them and postage... which will be cheap as chips.

I'd send a picture but my phone camera doesn't have drivers anywhere on the net for Win Vista.. which i've just moved over too. GRR!!

I will go on a mission to my local tesco store and see if I can get some, I think they should stock them as its a massive store but if they don't I might take you up on your kind offer.

This Jars ( Dutch web ) are no good, you cannot PC them.

If you find a tub that says PP it doesn´t mean that you can PC it. It needs to say PP5.

Some tubs are PP5 but their lids not and they melt in the PC.

Why not send a euro over to the FSRE for some spores.
And try send some back to them once u have a successful grow :wink:

For Jars, go to a supermarket and look for Bonne Mamam Jam Jars. Its a pretty good quality jam and it's jars are perfect for PF Tek. I ended up a bit sick of jam by the end, as I had to empty 12 jars, but they work great

Also, for ordering my spore syringe from SmartBotanics (which when you actually get round to ordering becomes a site called amazing nature), I had no problems, they were quick, low profile, and the syringe comes in a cardboard tube that gives no clue to what is in it.

Hey,
Again thanks for the info. I saw the FSRE site and it looks like a really good idea and I will definetely be using it in the future but as its my first time it was recomended I buy a syringe as there are less ways for me to mess it up.

Yeah the tubs are PP5.  It even says they are microwave and dishwasher safe... 100% safe in the PC.  Just as good as the one on micro-science.co.uk, but better casue they are cheaper.. alot cheaper.
Yeah the i looked in the 24hour tesco the massive ones.  If you can't find though.. i'll send you a couple of dozen or whatever :laugh:
