Are Suillus brevipes edible?

Somtimes Suillus brevipes grows around here, are they edible? Its a type of bolete, brown cap with yellow gills.

your right Suillus brevipes I checked to early for slippery jack
edible the same just watch for mud slides from your poo hole

Yes pores, its pretty much just flat on the bottom... I dont think im gonna try for the mud slides.

I ate Suillus bovinus and I heard that you have to peel it - otherwise it may cause mild stomach upset.

I have eaten them. You need to peel off the bottom pores and the top skin with slime layer. The slime is what gives you the shits. After its all peeled it looks like a little pancake. They are fairly good fried.
