Growing under CFL's

Thats right, ive heard of it being done before but im unsure exactly how. Im also unsure how much wattage they should be using? Would i have to buy unordinary CFL's?

Just get them in the highest wattages you can find, cool white work fine. If you want to you can get "unordinary" cfls but it is not necessary. Ive grown a few vegetative plants with three 42 watters. Im no expert on them but they do grow stuff.

I typically just go with the regular 48" tube fluoros, but CFLs work rather well especially for small areas. Remember that the light from fluoros penetrate much less dstance than a HID light. I would use a minimum of 100w to veg, and atleast 300w to flower (if you do decide to flower with them). The buds should be just as decent as with a HID, but they will lack density and be airy. I'de say a safe average is about 1oz/plant from my experience.

I think Fluoros are great for compact/personal stash grows and produce good product, but they just lack yield.
