Very nice Woodrose ! A friend just brought me back some seeds from Hawaii...What was your method of germinating? There are no problems growing morningglories here most farmers consider them a pest, this will be my first try at woodrose.....

My method for germinating BHW was to sand the shell of the seeds until some of the softer tissue was visible. I then placed the seeds in mineral water for 36 hours and planted in peat based compost.
It took slightly longer than the morning glory seeds.
They are grown indoors.
100% germination rate!

My method is similar to that, but I'm usually stoned when I think about doing it, so what I do is; struggle to try and cut a little part of the bottom of the seed off with a pair of crappy scissors, usually only manage to cut the smallest bit off lol. Then I see the glass on my desk, and a bottle of tap water that has been sitting around for about 3 weeks, I then proceed to put water in glass and put seeds in. Next morning I see them swell up but don't do anything about it, several days later (possibly, can't remember) I see the start of a root coming from a few of the seeds and plant them in a pot. They then proceed to grow and live happily ever after.

They are 13 weeks old and the seeds are from Gnostic Garden "A UK based ethnobotanical seed bank, plant nursery and herbarium"

I was under the impression that they don't flower in the first year, is this correct?
