There was an article in our local paper saying that Free wireless is going to end....they found ways to capitalize on it somehow.

Netzero used to be free, when it first came out...all you sacraficed was an inch or so of screenspace....its where they put all their advertisements.

i bought 60 meters of cat 5 cable and flushed it down by toilet, 2 hours later it still hasnt been connected to a server? it says it takes 60mins

Actually its a VERY cool idea to thread data cable through the sewage pipes. I mean instead of having to dig out a whole grid there's a network of concrete pipes already in place.

I'm thinking cables laid through the (main) street sewer pipes by a kind of bots, every street having a couple of nodes within the sewers that home computers connect to with a wireless modem. Since laying a physical grid is very costly, this has spectacular possibilities for a datacable-only grid that could offer outrageous bandwidth.
