Book suggestions

In a couple of weeks I'm going on a potentially very boring and likely very sober vacation involving minimal technology. I need ideas as far as books to bring. I prefer nonfiction. It can't be too blatantly drug-related.

I'm going to an old farm on North Carolina with no one I enjoy the company of and nothing to do.

Have you ever read 'The Iliad' by Homer?

It's really good. Pretty fucking entertaining for a story written hundreds of years ago.

The Iliad is a sick book, I read it last summer. I picked up this copy with the Iliad and the Odyssey.

The Iliad is a crazy war story, and the Odyssey is a crazy adventure story.

Yea Zeus gets mad pissed at some point and tears the house up. I used to read it at work at my summer job (a do nothing gas station] and the inbreds that would come in would be either appalled or amazed that I was reading such a ginormous book.

If you like nonfiction, check out Reefer Madness by Eric Schlosser. It's an interesting look at the black market economy of pot, porn, and illegal immigrants, and it's relationship to the rest of the economy.
