Just to clarify, Gore never claimed to invent the internet. That is to say, he didn't mean to say that he did. That famous myth/meme about him claiming credit for the internet is actually in reference to him talking about helping a lot of various internet related legislation to get passed, years and years ago, that wound up helping the net evolve the way it has. That's it.

Now, I have had very little thought about Gore either way. I think he was robbed in the 2000 election (or more specifically, the American people were robbed), but at this point I can't say I really care.. gotta focus on fixing the problems now, not worrying about problems in the past.

However, having heard him on NPR recently in an interview I was surprised at his articulation and eloquence. He also had a firm grasp on the facts and realities of his topic (global warming of course) and did rather well in the interview, coming off as intelligent and thoughtful.. a nice change from the glaring contrast of Bush (stupid and thoughtless) or, say, Kerry (arrogant and boring), or say, Clinton (intelligent but sly).

Would he have made a good president though? Who knows.

I think he would be a much more effective president than George W. Bush, and that is all that really matters, when you think about it. :wink:

Bill Clinton was kick ass. Its too bad we couldn't re-elect him. I don't want to see Hillary Clinton as president, either, and certainly not Mc Cain. Dennis Kunicich would be the perfect president but he isn't known well enough to win, although he would definitely make an awesome vice-president as well.

I honestly wouldn't be too surprised if Al Gore enters the race late in the game. He's going to stay very much in the public eye with this global warming piece, this concert and what-not, and he'll ride in all pimpin' and win. With the exception of Kunicich, he is the only candidate that would be worth voting for... that and perhaps Rudy?

I hope he runs for president in 2008. Not that the dictatorship of corporate America will be replaced if he wins or anything though.
