i responded over in the pub but in case it gets burried.. if there is an open spot, id like to get in, but someone else can take it if theres not room since i wont be able to be active until the end of april.

I have won in a money league. I have lost in a money league. I think the best game is with a salary cap and a live auction but yahoo is free and easy, you can do it live or with an auto draft. With all the disparate whackos likely to be in it should fairly be an autodraft because there will never be a 3 hour window that everybody can visit. The most fun you can have is when you bring bucks, sit in a room with 10 other teams and have an auction. The strategy is so much beyond what yahoo allows as to make it almost another game entirely. You can game other guys and totally fuck people's budgets by bringing up top price players early. Anybody in the NYC area who wants to do a league in the classic sense should contact me. It is the total tits. There is nothing better. Except winning at chess. But it's right there.

I have never not won in a yahoo league. I expect that to end this year. I expected it to end last year. It's fucking hard to win, there is so much shit that can happen in baseball. I would also seriously and strongly recommend not doing head to head. First of all, it's stupid prima facie. Second of all drop out bitches don't fuck the game near as much. Especially if flagrantly collusive trades are disallowed.

how is this one set up? Is it draft related, or stock market based?

I dont know if 'stock market based' is a good description. Ive only played FBBall once before, and it was with SmallWorld.com or something like that. Everyone in the league got 50,000,000 to start. Players prices were determined by how many people on the whole website had the player. So for instance, Pedro and Randy Johnson were like 10-12million. But players like Albert Pujols, (his rookie year) were dirt cheap in April, but worth 7 million by late August. Buy low sell high.

Teams in the same league could have the same players, but they had to be under the 'cap'. If you had a bunch of rookies, who became good, there price would go up. If you sold them for more than you paid, your cap number went up.

I anyone familiar with this style?

OMR was the one who put it together last year and if he wants to do it again that is more than fine by me. I just want to get the topic up and around to see what the interest is because like I said, I had a poor showing last year and would like to see if i can do bettter.

I suggest raising the minimum innings pitched. It was way too low last year. Some people only used relieving pitchers and not starters because the min innings pitched was to low.

Something needs to be done about the pitching.

I stopped starting pitchers last year like, halfway through, because there were just too many ways to get hurt using a pitcher. You could potentiallly lose in like, 8 categories just to win 2.

I agree. Last year it was like 8 when it could easily doubled or tripled. I ended up starting only RP's at the end.

I'm playing again.  Let me know when everything gets set up.  Hopefully I'll do better than last yr :mad:

Oh, and the people that signed up last year and then just blatently didn't play the entire season shouldn't be allowed in the league again this year.  Active managers only.

I know alot of people had problems logging into accounts once they set them up.
