Can turn a smelly thing into a perfect substrate.

Last year;
built a large platform from FREE scavenged construction material.
(used hvy duty pallets & 3/4 inch exterior plywood sheets)
Pallets layed out tightly end to end & side by side.
Plywood simply screwed onto pallets, w/screw gun.
1/4 inch gaps for drainage & air circulation.
Cut a few p/wood sheets in half.
Screwed on as 2 ft high rear & side walls.
Corners & sides reinforced with 2X4 scraps.

Over the course of a summer;
truck loads of FREE h/poo w/straw bedding.
Was gathered & emptied on top platform.
Until overall platform depth was 2+ feet deep.

Whole thing was left exposed to nature all fall & winter.
Used a large commercial rototiller to turn content twice.
During the winter.

Today level of pile averages about 14 to 16 inches deep.
(from decomposition & drying)
Once spring is here w/dry/hot weather.
Whole pile will get shredded & stored.

Life is sweet.
