did anyone one here go? im listining to it right now and i gotta saw its not good. im struggeling to find any redeming moments in alot of the songs.
phish is better than this. i just cant get over how lame the end of there band was. they basicaly sayed they had "nothing left to prove" and decided it was going to become to cheesy and dirty with time. wht with the growing amount of fans and shadyness.

fuck that, thats not what ther emusic is about at all. spontanaity, chaos, creation. thats what phish does so well.
they are better than this.

Please, of course they had to end in such a way. I mean, look at the music they played, then look at the majority of people who listen to the music. Then think that they are probably similar to their fans. Then realize they might even be more extreme than most of their fans. Then understand that there would be no better way to get. Except I agree, I am also listening to some Coventry stuff and I am unimpressed, my brother went and I was asking him about it over email today, but he was sketched out to tell me a bunch because he's in Iraq. He said it was fun though.

nah thats bullshit. bullshit cant be helped tho. when you get big alot of stuff comes up with you good and bad. phish's job was not to play well. but to stay interested. once they lost intrest the music became false and everyone could tell.

I wish Phish would reunite so I wouldn't have to see Phil and Trey for the fiftieth time.  I've seen Phil and Friends ONCE, it was a revelation, but now its always Phil and Trey, which I *want* to like.

I just wish I could see trey play Divided Sky, and phil play Brown Eyed Women.  Thats all I'm asking

A friend and I went to a movie theatre showing a simulcast of the gig. I'd pretty much agree with what's already been said-- a lackluster final performance. I am sure that the phans who made it in despite the clusterfucked logistics had a helluva time, but the music was just not there. There were some parts were Trey and the others were just completely emotionally overcome by the enormity of their whole thing coming to an end... And then there were other parts where you could tell Trey was completely fried.

Trey needs the other guys to keep his guitaring fiasco under control. I've tried to get into his solo stuff, but I just can't.

Coventry was a bust. I wasn't there but I heard the recording. Very sloppy.

With the new facts surfacing about Trey possessing heroin I don't see Phil playing with him in the near future. Phil is a clean man and he's seen many a brother destroy themselves with opiates. I really think this whole Trey/drug bust thing is going to affect Trey's reputation and music career. He's gotta clean up. He's got a family for Christ's sake.

A rumor is a rumor but word is that Phil will do a summer tour in light of his recent defeat of cancer. Let's cross our fingers.

i went, and i have to say i am so glad i didn't miss it. i had to walk like 10 miles (but luckily got a ride from a local for the other half), my car got towed off the high way, i lost both friends i went with, and lost my tent the first whole night. it was a fucking logistical nightmare but i didn't miss any of the music and i'm so glad i didn't go home when they told everyone too. it was a really emotional time so you can't hate on them so much, well you can but give them a little credit. when page cried during wading in the velvet sea it really set the tone for the whole event. i haven't really listened to my tapes of it much but i am still overjoyed i was there for that last curtain with, even tho trey had to restart it, definitely another sign of the whole weekend and experience. i did get this sick bowl tho that was made in Humboldt there, it has a big bowl so i don't use it much but i love the work on it.

i was there, it was fun and all, but definitely the worst phish shows (in terms of the music) that i had ever seen. compared to their summer tour 03, the whole summer 04 tour was shit.

and yes, trey was really fucked up. it was sad, his mom (and gordo's mom, i think) came out on stage, and i was thinking "jesus, she must realize that her son is all strung out :nonono:"

I was there and had one of the best times I ever had at a festival. Yes the music was sloppy but a great time it was. I thought the first day was the best of all. I was hoping they would play Harpua, but they didn't. Yes Trey was very fucked up. It was sad watching him, I was thinking to myself he has to be more fucked up than any other person that is awake at this show right now. If I remember correctly he was foaming at the mouth at one point.
One thing that really sucked was the MUD, it was insane how much mud there was at the show. Here is two pictures of me at the show when I was really fucked up lol.

haha, the only bad thing that happened to me (well, besides having to walk 10+ miles to get there) was right after the last set ended, we were going to hike back to our car and drive overnight. myself and my friend aaron ate a bunch of chocolates figuring we were really tired, had no stimulants, and needed some kind of drug-induced boost to stay up for the long walk ahead. 5 minutes later, we managed to catch a ride with some locals. both of us start coming up in this van, and realize what was in store - we made it back to the car, got in, and our friend dan started driving back towards New York (we were going to cut through Canada at Niagra since we had no drugs left on us). Within 30 minutes, it is pouring rain, and both Aaron and I are fucking geeked, tripping really hard and stuck inside a small, smelly, muddy car.

it was an interesting trip, to say the least. i actually took the wheel some 8 hours later, and drove through canada while still afterglowing.

Yeah, the 03 tours were pretty good musically. I was sad that I missed the 04 tour, but afterwards having heard all about it, I'm glad, because my last Phish show was an awesome one. (7/31/03 @ the Tweeter)

I was there, 2+ days in the car and at least 10 mile walk in. I enjoyed the fuck out of my coventry experience although yes, the music was not that great. And how bout Trey telling the SAME story almost word for word both nights...strange. Here is a just a few pics that I took.

Yeah that was pretty good. I give Fishman most of the credit for that show though.

,,,

Coventry was totally sloppy. The mud. The scene. And of course the music was the worst I've ever heard Phish play.

I can't blame them for fucking up the music in such an emotional state (or even if Trey was pinned out, whatever). But I was hoping for more effort... or some kind of cool blow-out. It was very anti-climactic and didn't help my "healing process" very well lol

"IT" the year before was 1000x more fun in every possible way.
