My encounter with police yesterday, as well as some pictures of fuzzy animals. Big Pic Warning.

So I'll start with the police story. Yesterday at about 2:15 I was headed home from work on the highway. I always drive fast, but lately my car has been doing this weird thing (I think I need a tune up) where when I go up hills I basically have to SLAM on the gas ot get it to go into 5th gear, or it eventually just drops back into 4th gear and slows me down a ton, but revs the RPMs. Hope that made sense. So I'm gunning my engine trying to get over the top of this hill in 5th gear, and as I'm coming over the top of the hill and starting to go down it, there's a state trooper sitting there on the right hand shoulder, just waiting for people to drive by going fast. He had me on radar doing 81 in a 55....not so great :frown:

So anyways, comes over, asks for my license and registration, and I tell him that I have to reach around in my purse for it and ask him if that's ok, and he says yes. So I grab them, hand them to him, and he tells me to get out of the car. I'm confused, but I'm like "Ok...why?" He says just step out of the car, brings me to the front of the car and makes me keep my hands on the hood, while he proceeds to open my passenger side front door and start searching it. At this point, I'm completely confused...he had no reason to be searching my car. So I said "Sir - you have no right to be searching my car right now, and are doing so without my permission". He said he had probably cause. I said "No, you don't have shit, now stop searching my vehicle". And he starts yelling at me, tells me that while I was digging in my purse, he "saw the pill bottles I had in there and was suspicious that I was selling drugs, or had more hidden in the car". I tell him that those are MY prescriptions with MY name on them, and that he can check that if he wants to. He keeps looking through my car. He says "what's this here, a radar detector?" pointing at a wire on my windshield, and I say no, that's my rem ote car stater. He keeps digging. Finally I start getting pissed, and I'm like "Sir, get out of my car". He says "When I'm done". I say "Well you're done, as of right now, since what you're doing is unlawful". And he starts getting all heated, and makes me stand in the freezing cold, in front of my car, while he goes back to his cruiser and runs my information. he comes back and says "you have a clean driving record", and I nod. And he says "I'm going to let you off with a warning, instead of giving you what would be a $500 ticket. I ask him for his badge number. He smirks and starts to walk away. I ask him for it again. He gets in his cruiser, turns the lights on and speeds away without giving it to me. I didn't look at the license plate. I should have, I was just so taken aback by what had just happened that I was sort of in shock. I drove the rest of the way home slowly thinking about what had happened a lot, and decided to call the State Police headquarters and report what had happened, and try to find out who the guy was. I gave them his description as best I could, what time/where I was pulled over, and told them in detail what had happened. They said they would find out what they could and try to get back to me. I plan on following up on it today. I'm just so fucking pissed off that he felt like he could do that to me, for absolutely no reason. Thoughts? Suggestions? Should I have done something differently? I wish I had been able to get his plate number, but even if it had occurred to me at the time, I think he drove away too fast, and I didn't have my glasses on. :sad:

Anyways, that was my story.
