Too much DMT, or, how I stuck my finger in my third eye

I was over at my friend's house, we'll call him Leroy Jenkins (LJ), and he had done an extraction from mimosa hostilis, resulting in some most excellent n,n-DMT, and a bit of 5-MeO-DMT.  I had smoked it before in that house, and was relaxed doing it.  There were two people there who had not, we shall call them George and Martha Washington (GW and MW) since they were a couple.  They wanted to try DMT, but were unsure about the effects given the description of trip intensity.

    I had been drinking this evening.  The possibility of myself smoking DMT as a primer for those two had been discussed earlier in the evening, but then dropped and forgotten (by myself only, I guess).  So, several more beers and a 5/500 Percocet later, LJ comes up to me with the DMT pipe and says, "hey, you ready?"  "Oh, fuck," I think, but instead, I say "Oh, sure," and take the pipe a little unsteadily.

    "I loaded more than you'll need in there so we won't have to screw around with reloading it each time," LJ tells me as I take my second hit, which seemed a little smokier than usual, and the patterns seemed a little more patternier than usual.  I lay down on the chair, get to the Chrysanthemum, and the next thing I know LJ is waving his hand in front of my face asking if I'm okay, and I have a bit of a headache.  No recollection whatsoever of anything that occurred.

    The evening continues as planned, the Washingtons take their DMT and have a nice little trip, I guess MW didn't break through, and it was a little much for GW and he needed some alone time to cope with his shattered ego, or whatever.

    I drove home a couple hours later, drunkenly and opiatedly satisfied with my sobriety, and drove home.  The reality of my driving that night is probably immaterial, since I'm alive now and it seemed like I was doing fine at the time, however that minor headache was really starting to fucking hurt.  I went to bed and tried to breathe just so, in a way that would allow the pain to subside and let me drift off to sleep.

    I woke up the next morning feeling fine.  I went to work, had a normal day, came home.  Was bored for a while, and got to one of my favorite parts of the evening, the Dance of the Snake Charmer.  So, I'm investigating my crime scene, start getting all excited, do my deed and then WHAM! it was like someone shoved a fucking icepick into the back of my skull!  It was some of the most intense pain I've ever experienced in my life.  This pleasure-overload-triggered headache syndrome lasted for about 2 weeks.  I don't know what caused it, really, and I don't know why it went away, but I sure as hell am glad it did.

The one time I smoked a large dose of DMT, it felt as if a lot more happened than what I remembered after the trip. I still did remember a lot, but knew that there was possibly more. Right before I was taken away, I also remember that I was making some odd choking sounds in my throat. You should ask your friend if he recalled you making a similar noise.

the only time i tryed dmt so far i was over come by a very strange feeling the second i hit the pipe. i felt the "wet suit" out line around my body then was slaped with a very od confused nausa. i sluped dawn and refused to hit the pipe again as i felt like i might be sick. this faded after about 20 sec and i was back. gotta try again soon

Hey, I haven't finished reading, but I thought I'd mention that mimosa hostilis is not a 5-MeO-DMT source. That and the high n,n makes it such a desirable product.

Koala Koolio, there's still a bit of 5-MeO in there, as I understand it... even a tiny fraction seems to make a difference!

longbottom_leaf, I get the same thing generally, about 5sec after I start hitting the pipe, a whole-body buzzing or vibrating sensation, which builds until it's a hum, which builds until it disappears from hearing.

Minor update: after this experience, I stopped smoking DMT out of nervousness, but have since smoked it again, and had very satisfying experiences.

i got a small head ache after i smoked dmt a few days ago, but it faded after an hour or so and i think it was largly due to the fact i hadent eaten.

This doesn't really sound like DMT...

Good DMT will about make you shit yourself. Then again, set and setting are the biggest part. I reccomend doing it sober and in a relaxed outdoor setting. I've used loads of DMT and it seems to have a thing about rewarding you when you take care of yourself, love yourself. Don't treat it as just another drug. It's not.

A lot of Mimosa is turning up NMT in place of DMT, which appears to be DMT but has little to no effect. Also, mimosa is not a source of 5-MeO.
