Strong Mycel, or white contaim?

My buddy flipped his jars over a few days ago, and because the cakes had shrunk a bit they dropped just a few centimeters.

He noticed today that there was some strong growth where the bottem had not been colonized, and it was kinda strange looking. not whispy, but almost foam like, very white. It was also a bit thick.

What do you all think?

Yeap, mycellium. The jars must've stalled and the old mycellium started looking drier and greyish, once fliped, the cake gains strength again producing new bright white mycellium.

Thanks much, my buddy was quite happy to find he had not lost another one to contaimination.

Out of 11 jars, one was contaim'ed with a green mold, and a couple jars were stalled. At least one jar was way too moist, and will most likely not fully colonize, but about 6-8 should be good to go.
