Carl Sagan's 'Cosmos'

Who here has seen it (all or part)? I know its a little outdated, but my girlfriends dad got it for christmas and me and her have been watching it recently... we just finished episode 4, i understand many of the ideas and facts that he expresses it just blows my mind a bit listening to it all... i think episode 2 about evolution is a good one... what are your thoughts/opinions on the series? anyone know any newer series that are similar...

I have seen it. Sagan had a real gift for presenting science in a way that made it easy to understand and appreciate for a general audience.  :thumbup:

there is a clip from the beginning of episode 1 on this page ... it's really fascinating stuff... carl sagan rocks...

I also like how he pronounces human.... 'YU-man...'.

That show is so old, I was in my early teens when it was on cable.
But it is good though still I am sure..

Dude, I fucking love that show. For like the last six months it was on every Tuesday night at 7. I would get blazed and watch it. I love learning about the universe, and being stoned at the same time makes it easier to understand how HUGE the universe is, and how completely insignificant we are.

Another thing I like about that show is Carl Sagan's voice. It's definitely a unique one and it makes the show that much more interesting.

Unfortunately my work schedule changed and now I work nights so I don't get to watch it anymore.

I don't remember it being on tv in decades. 'Twould be nice to see again but I'm not shelling out $ for the dvds.
