Why do girls wear provacative clothes?

I understand if a girl wants guys to notice her body, and be attracted to it so they can fuck or they can like her for the way she LOOKS. But what I dont understand, I know alot of girls who are in a relationship or claim to want guys / girls to like them for whats inside (not how they look), but then why do they wear skin tight clothes or clothes that have clevage? I mean its just distracting, usually.
I was talking to this girl who was wearing baggy sweat pants but still looked nice, and she has a boyfriend. She told me: "its not that we want to be noticed, we just dont want to be ignored"- she often wears tight clothes that would get her noticed by guys.

I dont understand. When I notice people are talking to me just for my looks, it turns me away from them. I purposelly only wear comortable things so that 1)Im comfortable 2)I know that it will attract only the real people (to my eyes), and 3)know that it will automatically put- off the shallow, emtpy people I DONT want to talk to.
I realized within the last year, there is a need to observe beauty, not just beautiful music, but visually beautiful things, taste smell, etc... I was sitting contemplating this tree, it was so beautiful, just as beautiful as anything else that is 'in bloom', and realized we need to observe beauty, but in a tasteful way. I was lying there, thinking about how I always cared if my pants fell down a little and exposed part of my hip, and i realized, what do i care?
Maybe im sounding hypocritical. Nakedness is beautiful, and theres nothing wrong with it. I think if everyone was naked there wouldnt be desire. I think provacative clothes make desire worse.
I think if I was a girl, i would wear nice clothes that didnt cling to every inch of my body, especially my ass or chest.
When a girl is dressing like this I usually try to not give her attention.

Maybe I was just confused by someone who was confused. They would tell me, this is only for you to see... but then everyone else could pretty much see it.
I still think if I was a girl, I would mainly wear loose clothing just so I wouldnt attract the wrong attention. If someone really is attracted to me, it will be through the eyes, like it is for me.

Can I get a girls point of view? I dont mean any offense to anyone.

I don't see what the big deal is. If they do it, it's probably because they want to do it. It doesn't automatically mean they're easy or sleazy or any of that. I think that's more society projecting on them what they want to see, in terms of intent or personality. That's not to say that women who wear the skimpy clothing aren't often times acting out or attention whoring, just that it's not anyone else's place to decide that for them solely based on their appearance.

If you really want to know, try talking to them (and not at their tits) and see what kind of person they really are.

That said, I dig it when chicks where the skimpy slut clothes. I mean, who doesn't appreciate some nice scenery? :laugh:

What bothers me is if a girl is wearing provocative clothing and say I comment on it, it can be construed as sexual harassment. But if "brad" says the exact some wording (or even something inappropriate), then it's cute and fun. BULLSHIT

Dave Chapelle had a pretty good point about this. He said that a girl wearing skimpy clothing and then not reacting well to the attention that clothing creates is similar to a man dressing up in a policeman's uniform and then getting offended when people ask him for help during a mugging. "You may not be a whore, but you sure are wearing a whore's uniform."

You might begin to mind when you see guys always checking out your long term girlfriend's clevage or something, then she tells you its only for you, and that she doesnt do it for attention.
And I think its pretty sad that CLOTHES would make anyone feel beautiful, but maybe im being closed minded.

Keep in mind that on some girls, certain clothes may look slutty when they don't really intend them to be. I'm referring here to women with the large boobies. :laugh:

i'm a chick... i wear what i want, but i always dress for comfort.  my jeans don't usually cling to my ass because i don't have a very big ass.  in general, my shirts fit nicely on my chest... never too tight, and rarely anything too low-cut.

i already have a boyfriend, so i really don't feel the need to attract any extra attention.  even when i was single, i didn't dress like a slut just to see if i could turn some heads.  fuck that noise.  like you said, i'd rather meet guys who are attracted to more than my cleavage, anyway.

I remember back in high school, they would give the sexual harassment lectures and talk about how you shouldn't look at girls who are wearing skimpy clothes, and how many girls take it offensively.

im a chick that likes to look good but has no problem going out in jeans and slippers... boys will be boys and will hit on you or not regardless of what your wearing... i dress up when i have the time and down when i dont. i dress up because i want to look good to my standards not society's cause they would say i was a goof ball. yes lots of girls do it for the attention but there are lots of other things i could say or do that dont involve my clothing or lack there of
