Name suggestions?
    #6429480 -

My fiancee and I went to the pet store today to get frontline for our dog, and wound up leaving with a new friend.  We have yet to name her, but she's a little spitfire ferret.  I liked her because she has unusual markings - a stripe down the top of her head that kind of makes me look like a skunk, a white chest, white "mittens" on her front feet, and a little white tip on her tail.  With that stuff in mind, I was thinking of maybe naming her Flower, after the skunk in Bambi.  However, our other 2 ferrets are Hero and Villain, and it would be nice to keep with that sort of theme.

The new ferret, after observing her for a while, is a wild one!  She's only 11-12 weeks old, waltzed right in, beat up Villain (the alpha male, or so he thought), beat up my dog, and hopped around the room like a pogo stick.  Also, what really shocked me was when she went over to our dogs water dish, and got right in it.  Like, sometimes Villain will dunk his face in to clean his whiskers off, but she got right in, all the way, and dunked her head and body all the way under, like a little otter.  The shook off, and rolled around on the rug and slid on her tummy to dry off.  She's still a little bit nippy with us, because she's so young, and from a pet store, she's not used to being handled that much.  And when she did get handled there, it was always just to get tossed back in the cage.  But we're training her not to nip, and she was being better about it towards the end of the night.

Here are some names that we've brain stormed so far -

Justice
Nemesis
Flower
Tyrant
Rogue
Felon
Scoundrel
Vandal
Tricky
Smudge
Streak
Sox (she has white socks)
Charlotte
Destiny
Blitz (or Blitzer or Blitzy)
Spasm (Spaz)
Havoc
Malice
Vendetta (V)
Siren
Veritas
Trinity
Calamity
Linea (Stargate character, the destroyer of worlds)
Serenity

Feel free to add any suggestions to our list, we'd like to name her soon.  She's getting along great with the other 2 in the cage, they're all cuddling in the hammock together and Hero is giving her a bath.  Here's a few pictures of her, so you have an idea of what you're naming

^ I love that one!

I really liked Tricky, it stuck out with me... but then Rogue came up and now I just don't know.  It's a toss up!

Seems like your critters all friends with each other.

There were some tense moments with our new friend last night.  I was staying up, reading a book on ferrets, because I couldn't sleep, and because yes, I actually own books about ferrets.  I realized after reading a bit that because she's so young, and becuase the pet store was giving her wet food and dry food, she had the option not to have to learn how to eat dry food, since the wet stuff is usually more tasty anyways.  However, they need to eat dry food, because it takes care of their teeth.  So I started thinking, and realized that she hadn't eaten since we brought her home, which was like 10 hours prior...they're supposed to eat multiple times a day because their metabolisms are so fast.  So, I woke her up and tried to feed her.  No luck, she had no idea how to eat the dry food.  She kept smelling it like she wanted to eat it, but couldn't.  So I wet some of it so it was softer and shoved it in her mouth, and she chewed it and ate it.  Then I wet some more food and she ate it on her own.  Now she's eating plain dry food, since she knows she can chew.

Thank god for random ferret knowledge books!  She's very clumsy, when she plays she keeps falling off the bed/into things, jumps to grabs things and blatently misses and falls, etc.  She's also never had to deal with a cage with a ramp to a 2nd level, she can get UP it just fine, but she sort of slides down on her belly to get down, and more often than not, tumbles off the side of it.  Also, she really does fit the name Rogue, very well.  She does whatever the fuck she wants, when she wants to do it.  She's cuddle, but on her terms.  She'll play, but only if she wants to at that particular time.  Other than that, she prowls around looking for something to burrow under, or another ferret to jump on, or better yet, my dog, who she seems to really love to antoagonize.  So I've been calling her Rogue.  I think that will be her name, but it's not set in stone yet.

I also found out in the book last night that ferrets with her type of markings are called "Blaze" ferrets, and that there have been some studies linking these types of markings to a higher instance of deafness in the ferrets.  She doesn't SEEM to be deaf, but we'll have to keep an eye on that.  Even if she is, ferrets are good at learning hand signals for commands.

She climbed up the back of my shirt today while I was sitting on the bed, because I guess she thought my hair in a ponytail was a prime target...and attacked the back of my head.  I already love her a lot
