At what age do you want to (or did you) have children?

My roommate and I were just talking about this, and whereas he'd like to be set comfortably in his 30's when he has children I definitely want to have them in my mid-late twenties.

I can't anticipate when this'll happen--but if and when I've got a steady income, a loving wife, and am tired of partying, it'll be time to make that transition. Could be mid twenties, but i think it'll be closer to thirty.

When I find a place I want to settle down for a period of 18-20 years, and I'm happy with what I've accomplished thus far in my life.

If I'm 75 when that happens, so be it! :shrug:

Early to mid thirties probably. But like a few other people have said, it would have to be at a time when I have a steady income and I'm ready to settle down and quit partying.

amen to that! i'll need a woman whoi love and who truley loves me...i don't need a fortune, but enough stability in my money to be able to supposrt my family, but i think the settling down/no more patying thing is a bi aspect of things...i don't see myself having kids till i'm at least mid 30s...at LEAST!

Ya I'd have to say around 30 would be ideal but any age I feel financially secure would be alright. Would have to be some crazy circumstances to be below 25 though!

I had my first kid when i was 17, i was by no means ready or planning, but it happened...Now i have two kids, and it is great, it was hard at first, since i was in highschool and all, not to mention our parents didnt help, they are the 'dug yourself into it, get yourself out' type...but if you really want it, things will work out...

in the end im kind of glad i got started earlier, if i can find a way to retire by 40, im free more or less, and I will have money...

18 (sometimes more) years of burden and expenses.  They'll eventually get tired of ya and put you in a nursing home when they no long need you.  Personally, I feel like we're over populated as it is and to keep squirting out kids...just doesn't seem to right for me.

Although, this is just my personal preference.  :smile:
