Does Marijuana make you thick.

A couple of people told me that cannabis destroys brain cells and makes people dumb, they say their friends were made dumb by it.
Is this possible?
I also saw an advert saying that it can muck up your bain and that you'd probably need another if you kept using it.(not that they really meant anyone was going to get a new brain) :stoned:

It only makes you dumb while you're high. There have been studies that show that marijuana use causes no long term change in brain chemistry or function.

Marijuana made me do all of the following, in no certain order:

Run over a little girl on a bike going through drive-thru
Forget to pick my little bro up from baseball practice all night
Hit an old man with my car while I was changing the CD
Shoot my best friend after I found my dad's gun and started playing with it
Reside in my parents' basement smoking pot all day long, where I'll stay for the rest of my pot-smoking days....

There's more that I'm forgetting, of course, because I'm high as a kite.

I tried telling them that but they just would not accept it, also that advert I was talking about warns of super strong strains being a problem, what are the actual risks of using strong weed?

It really depends what kind of mood I'm in

I believe that if you're an all-day stoner for a long while, that part of your brightness, memory and concentrating abilities will be gone forever.

Many studies however insist that people are detrimentally affected but that this is reversible in the first months after quitting.

Smoking stronger strains is actually more healthy because you do not have to inhale as much smoke to get the same high.

Marijuana can certainly induce or encourage pre-existing lazyness; allowing you to feel more comfortable as a complacent, non-participant, loungin' around and being relatively unproductive.  Of course, it goes both ways and if your passion/job lies in the creative arts, there is a fair chance that responsible marijuana use may help excite your creative abilities.  I would roughly equate casual marijuana use to casual and moderated alcohol use.  It can help you relax, may make you lazy, but so long as you are moderating your use responsibly, it should not have any appreciable affect on your overall disposition and productivity.  Use too much too often, and you may indeed find it more difficult to participate in fluid fashion with the rest of standard society.  Then again, you should live your life however you want to!

For myself, I attempt to put into practice: Everything in moderation. :spliff:

I'm mildly intelligent and ive been smoking for 11 years,, i don't think ive lost anything.

I forget things,, i'm dozy,,, but i'm not thick..

Infact there are sides to my personality that i wouldn't have if i hadn't smoked weed, so i think it adds something to an extent.

pot makes me virtually useless.
i just want to sit there & do nothing.
any type of tasks that require thinking & memory,
i will put on the 'wait til sober' list.
