Can someone give me some tips on drawing?

I was wondering if anyone could give me good tips on drawing. Like sketching and stuff. I'm looking into getting good at more surreal or psychedelic styles. A good example of the style I wanna start getting better at is stuff by Ralph Steadman. As of now I have little drawing ability, but could anyone help me get better.

just practice.

not much more to it than that. see the gestural lines in all that you see. take notice on what shapes make what forms, etc.

Get high, and the pencil will pretty much draw itself on the paper. I suck ass at drawing, but when I'm high, it looks amazing. :stoned:

Just take your pencil and hold it very lightly. The more relaxed the better. Start drawing lines, of any kind of any form, just let go and see what comes out. I like curved myself. I draw a few and then I see what it begins to form. If it looks like something, I try to develop it using things I know about life forms, such as if it looks like a particular animal or a face or something. It is all about your imagination, use it and chaos to form something beautiful.

I am beginning to like abstract art much more than formal art of any kind.

Get a 2H pencil it will be your best friend, and a pearl pink eraser. Keep it sharp enough to hurt someone. constantly rotate it when your drawing with it to keep it on a sharp point. Just do what you feel, don't get frustrated when it's not perfect. Don't throw it away if you get too annoyed with a peice, put it away and work on something else for a while and come back to it.

Its really important to open you're mind, like how you relax your eyes to look at a magic eye, except you have to relax your brain and find the groove.  Theres lots of great inspiration to be had in graffiti.













Just a few from spain, they got it right there.  Not the best but if that inspires you then theres some out there that will blow you away :hehehe:
