    #621996 - 04/29/02 06:45 AM (15 years, 9 months ago)

is it possible to put the fresh shrooms into the freezer? i've read that fresh are more potent, so this idea came to my mind... will they get harmed in any way if they get freezed?

Never tried it. But i read freezing will render the shroomies inactive by oxydation.

I wouldn't freeze fresh shrooms. They are almost all water. Have you ever had an onion freeze on you then when you thaw it out it turns into a slimy ball of shit. Freezing fresh shrooms will most likely result in the same thing.

Yeah, they get nasty and slimy. If you want to preserve them whole, do it in honey.

WARNING chronicshroom will rip you off! Don't trade with him! I sent him 20 spore syringes and he never sent me anything.

I got a half ounce of psilocybe cyanescens that had been frozen. I split it with my girlfriend and we didnt feel hardly anything. DO NOT FREEZE. It will only destroy the "good stuff".

Try the search function. Not only has this question been asked and answered many times, but it has nothing to do with cultivation. Perhaps you might recognize the word cultivation as it's the forum you posted in.

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it. ~ Adrian Rogers

Actually, it's very easy to isolate a super producing sclerotia strain.

Follow the strain isolation technique on Let's Grow Mushrooms, and then select sectors early which are brown in color.  By the second or third transfer, you'll see stones developing, and this is only about 1 month after the original swipe of spores on agar.

Now, take each stone and move it to a new dish.  Soon, the mycelium will grow out and you'll see fresh stones developing, and if they're good strains, the sclerotia is forming long before the mycelium reaches the edge of the plate.  Pick strains which form four or five stones within two weeks and use these for your grain masters.
