A friend(this guy) told me that and I somewhat believe it, cause 20 Libs made me trip balls. And as you can see he even found some BLUE Libs, which means they're ultra potent. I remember even reading about it from Finnish wikipedia but I dont remember how Libs are called in Finnish, so I cant look it up.

Anyway why I wanna know this, is cause one "im-so-fucking-smart" guy says "You are a fucking dumbass you idiot...the more north they grow the more potent they are? How the fuck could that ever be true? You are a complete fucking moron you idiot you can cultivate the same kind of mushrooms in south chile that you could cultivate in canada... You are retarded..and yes you are a dumbass."

Some smart mycologists please post your opinion, so I can refer that fool here, maybe he will believe you more than me.

Yea i've heard when they purplish they are very potent, dunno if it has anything to do with climate though.  Maybe its the acidity of the ground or something?  I do know however that round here they get you fucked, and thats good enough for me :thumbup:

All I can say is the ones here in Newfoundland are fucking huge. I had one the full length of my hand yesterday with a cap about 3 fingers wide, and I have a big long fingered hand.

There were so many huge ones that I guess you can say overall you get more bang for your shittrot.

Friends of mine here in the U.K have claimed that Scottish shrooms are stronger, since I've never had any I can't comment.

I think it depends on climate. So the more cold, more potent, or something.

That could be possible (temperature). That happens to be one of my personal theories (with no evidence, of course). It's hard to prove it, and I actually don't really care to do so, but here's my theory:

IF psilocibin is produced by the aforesaid mushroom as a protection from extreme temperatures, AND they produce more depending on how extreme the temperature is, then they would be more potent depending on how extreme the temperature. Although cooler temps might not necessarily be the only reason for more potency. To warm and too cold. Too warm only. Too cold only. Who knows? Anyone?

That's a little thought I have on the potency of wild shrooms which contain protective triptamines.

Actually I agree with the smart guy - potency would have more to do with phenotype and the availability of precursors than location...
And Moving target does wicked pieces...
