Squirrel cage help!

Hi Everyone,
It's been a while!  But I'm in the process of starting up a grow again...I just got this 240 cfm squirrel cage fan but it doesn't have any housing to direct air flow into an opening.  The wire cage around the central unit is connected to the back of the fan with 4 screws and will be removed...



Anybody have any expertise to build housing for this thing (from sheet metal)?  I have enough access to tools to do it, just don't have any idea what the schematics would look like.
I'm planning on using this unit to aerate a grow room so I need a place to hook up the ducting to.

Any help appreciated!

Mount that sucker to a 5gal bucket, and just cut out the bottom.

I'm afraid that this type of blower doesn't direct air that way. Air is taken in at the center hub and is blown out all around the perimeter of the fan.

Guess I'll just go ahead and get some sheet metal, and post a DIY for this.

That looks huge. I thought squirrel cage fans were generally small, like a bit bigger than 120mm computer fans.

I haven't got a clue on how to build a housing, but perhaps you could get an old broken one for cheap or something and copy it's design.

I think you will invest way more in time and materials than it would cost to buy a suitable blower.
