Is Sceletium tortuosum a plant I would possibly find at my local greenhouse,Home Depot,Lowes..etc? I know I've seen similar looking plants there..Would it be a waste of time to look?

don't think you'll find those at your local nursery... it's rare and not really appealing aspect wise for nurseries according to me...

I doubt it. They'd probably die in the type of care they give too.

Thank you. I wonder if there's a way to keep it from going dormant in the summer? I'm in zone 9, and my summers are upwards of 115f, very consistently.

I wonder if total shade in the summer would allow some growth?

Thats funny. Because, i live in SA and i know it grows in the karoo, which in fact is the warmest place in SA all year round.

Thats funny. Because, i live in SA and i know it grows in the karoo, which in fact is the warmest place in SA all year round.


Um at night the karoo gets extremely cold.

If the leaves start to leave skeletons then its very likely sceletium.
