The ONLY kind of music my dad listens to nowadays is Christian pop bullshit. It drives me fucking nuts. When I'm around him, I'll change it to something else (something that doesn't totally suck ass.. like classic rock) and he'll freak out.. saying it's the work of satan and the only type of music praising god is christians secular music or some stupid bullshit like that. I'm against ignorance and close-mindedness and self-righteousness, and that's why I despise this type of mentality that seems to be so predominant in christianity.

Mostly what drives me nuts in christian music is the lyrics. Some of them are decent musicians, and know how to write a catchy tune. But the lyrics make me want to punch someone in the face. Listen to christian radio for a week, and you'll know what I mean. 90% of ALL they sing about, is mindlessly worshipping "jesus", some guy that died 2,000 years ago. Half the lyrics in almost every song goes something like "oooh praise him, glorify him, ohhh jesus". Fuck that fake stupid cult bullshit.

Now I know some christians are genuinely good people. Don't get me wrong. But fuck this christian mentality that anything NON christian is evil and you should only support other christians and try to convert people to think and believe as you do. Diversity is a fucking fact of life, and christians create more boundaries and factions and brainwashed citizens than some satanists I know. As far as I'm concerned, Christianity is WORSE than Satanism, in that is so secular and FAR more widespread and has much more influence on people. Soooo.. not to generalize or anything.. but FUCK christian music and the self-righteous golden chariot it rode in on. And fuck brainwashed christians who claim to only follow the word of god and then sneer at a homeless person on the street or scoff at someone who has a different opinion from them.

Of course after a full week f work and classes and little sleep all week, the last thing i wanted to do after school friday evening was go to a concert. I didn't know what i was in for! It was 4 hours long, the music wasn't bad, but it was definitely like going to church. I was surrounded by upper middle class white church folk. I am a pretty open minded person but a lot of my spiritual values are very against christianity and the church itself.

So when my friends mom dropped me off at my car *finally* she gave me a bible, the Third Day's newest cd, a nice card and a pamphlet on sin hell converting to christianity whatever, you know what i'm talking about. My best friend is very conservative and a bible literalist, and we as a rule avoid topics such as religion, politics (she LOVES bush) and she from time to time tries to convert me. anyway thanks for letting me ramble.

what do you all think of christian music? its not that bad.
